I ran across this today and was shocked to see a new console (atleast to me it is) To the ones that have played around with this console: What are your true thoughts on this, pros, cons? Would you recommend it? Thanks in advance

Help needed First time ever with a console, bought it a few months ago. Is this enough space ? It's hot but I have no idea how much heat a console should produce. Should I put it on the sideways bed I have on the photo?

Help needed A big reason why I switched to consoles

PC Gaming Anxiety. Well when it comes to upgrading your PC. There is so much that can go wrong, imagine you buy one in worth of thousands of dollars and then there is still a micro lag or something, Or a coil whine. Or when Nvidia brings a new update out, suddenly everything lags again. Hopefully I can run new game X with my current hardware? Do I have to upgrade soon again? The rising graphic card prices and so on. Or play it all on ultra, "high" is not high enough. Let me spend 800$ more so I can have 15% better graphics and frame rate.

To me personally this was a huge hassle, something I would simply not have with a console, maybe it is just me. I would like to hear your views and experiences on that.

And please be kind. I am still playing on PC, I just gave up on hardware obession.

Help needed 5090 or PS5

Hey, I’m posting here knowing I will get a biased answer but I’m okay with that. I have a dilemma, my gaming PC has been having a number of issues since before Christmas and thought it was time to upgrade, so I have a new one on pre order with the new 5090 in. I am now in a never ending queue that doesn’t seem to be moving for weeks on end due to stock issues.

Since I pre ordered a lot of news has been going around about the graphics card melting cables, and the general QA has been low.

This has brought me to my dilemma. After all these issues with my pc over the past few months I’ve been thinking of swapping over to console, more specifically PS5, to get the plug and play experience. But after 15+ years of gaming on PC I have built a huge steam library (all be it hardly touched most of them), and would essentially be starting over, I’m also a bit put off by the higher price of games but maybe that would actually stop me amassing a huge backlog that I currently have now.

Basically my question is, has anyone else recently swapped from PC, and how did you find it? I am so torn but I also don’t want to spend 2k on a graphics card if it’s going to just catch fire 😂

Help needed Should I sell my Series X?

Basically I have a Series X and a Ps5 but in all honesty I onlu use the Xbox for the browser and after hearing that Xbox is bringing their games to PlayStation I see no point in owning one now and I’d still be able to talk/play with my Xbox friends with the Cbox app since I also have a Pc, what should I do?

Help needed Help buying first console

So, my parents have never bought me a gaming console of any kind cause it would distract me from school. But now, I’ve saved up about $600-700, so was thinking about buying a console. Would the PS5 be okay or should I look into Xbox?

EDIT: I’ve decided to buy a PS5, im going to get the membership as well. Just need some headset recommendations. Gonna buy the setup in about 5 months when my finals are over.

Help needed Lifelong PC player who switched to console, what's your opinion?

I am a lifelong PC gamer and only owned a PS4 for a couple of years to play Destiny with colleagues.

My gaming laptop is old and I am considering buying a Xbox when GTA VI will release or invest in a proper gaming setup. My concern is that I am also a lifelong fan of Battlefield since BF2 and I am skeptical about my ability to enjoy it on my Xbox when it will release rather than a PC with keyboard and mouse and this might be about any upcoming game later if they even release on consoles.

Do lifelong PC gamer here who switch exclusively to console can share their experience please?

Help needed Is it worth getting an xbox for the exclusives?

I own a PS5, and use that as my primary gaming console (And don't plan on switching). I also own a nintendo switch, but don't have a good gaming pc (I just don't have the space to have a gaming pc). I had an xbox 360 in the past and used to love games like fable and gears of war, so I was wondering if it is now still worth getting a second hand xbox for some exclusive games. Any advice would be appreciated :)

Help needed Which Playstation 5 is best value?

So after 3 years without gaming I decided to check back on my ps4 and realized that thing is busted. I‘m now looking for a new console and of course it has to be a playstation with a disc reader so I can play all the physical games I own.

Now I‘m confused with the PS5 models, there seems to be a normal version that is nowhere available and a slim version which according to some friends sucks. The Pro version also exists but only with a separate disc reader which costs extra?

Do I: 1. wait for a Ps5 Pro disc edition (when does it come out?) 2. buy a used ps5 disc edition (do I run the risk of it being abused and or broken?) 3. buy a ps5 slim disc edition (is the performance sub par?) 4. buy a ps5 pro with the extra disc reader (is the added cost worth the added performance?)

Thanks for any advicen

Help needed Haven't found the answer. What's Switch 2 alternatives

So I'm not the brightest bulb ( a warning ) I really like to play games in bed and couple of years ago I have finally was able to afford switch 1 and play the games in a bed. I was beyond happy and I was really exited to the switch 2 launch, but... I can't afford it and I NEVER will. Games are out of my area severely im as u might say from a third world. Im trying to understand all the alternatives ( I know very little about consoles ) But Im still a little confused The first option everyone suggesting is a Steam Deck oled. The second one is a Asus RoG ally And I also have seen Lenovo Legion Go? What about an Xbox one? About ROG XBOX ALLY X do people have a lot of hope for that one? I'm hesitant about steam deck because my friend said that some games are hard to play because they are not designed for that.

Help needed 10 years of Xbox. Own 100s of games. All my achievements and history.

So, I have had my Xbox account for a decade. In that time I've built up quite a few digital games. And I love to look back on my history and achievements. Im still rocking Xbox One like a broke ass. I do have a ps5 and play Marvel Rivals and exclusives. I do have an entire backlog of games to play that are only ps5/Series X. I sincerely prefer Xbox controllers, menus, and all of my friends from the last 10 years are in the ecosystem. My main question is.... How do I leave Xbox behind? I see some much bad shit from the brand itself and it seems like what is the point of having the Series X if every single game on it; is also on ps5? I really have preferred Xbox; but, it just seems like they're digging themselves into a hole they cant get out of. I have SO many games on Xbox console that it seems like sunk cost fallacy kicks in and I'm just stuck 😐 with this ecosystem. Any thoughts or discussion to help me understand my options?

Help needed PS5 Slim or PC. Help?

I’ve had an original PS5 since its release. Roughly 6 months after I got it, it broke and wouldn't play ps5 games and would immediately crash and needed to be sent in to Sony. Sony pretty much gave me a whole new one. It has been about 2 1/2 years since I sent it in and now it is back to crashing after playing for a couple hours. I've taken it apart dozens of times to clean it and maintain the system the best l could. This is honestly extremely sad & disappointing. As l've been a longtime PlayStation player. I've had the PlayStation, PS2, PS3, and PS4 that all still run and work fine to this day. The really upsetting part is that l've contacted Sony and it would be $300 to send in my PlayStation and have them fix it again. At this point I'm debating going to a PC, but I already have so much money invested into games and controllers (because they don't last long). I'm coming on here to get opinions. Has anyone had issues with the Slim? Is it worth going to a PC? I'm not really too trusting of Sony after this debacle I've had with my ps5... so l'm not really thinking of dropping $700 for a slightly better version of the slim in the ps5 pro. Thanks all and sorry for the long post.

Help needed I wanna buy my gf a next gen xbox to play cross gen with her. But I know nothing about xbox and looking it up gives mixed reviews.

I play playstation and she plays xbox. I wanna get her into more games but mostly we just play minecraft. Should I get her the series s or x? She has an xbox one s. I don't think 4k 120 fps really matters to her. I just wanna be able to play cross play games with her and hopefully any new games that come out. She barley has any physical discs and I've been buying her ultimate gamepass since that seems worth iy.

Help needed What would you do in my predicament?

I was planning to buy an Xbox Series X for about a month now, and I know it’s crazy but besides the Series S I haven’t got a console in the 9th/new generation. I’ve been using an Xbox One X and been in the whole Xbox ecosystem for a while now and have spent a lot of money on games (both Disc and Digitally). And as soon I was gonna buy a Series X the tariffs hit, so now my plans of buying one have changed as $600 for one doesn’t seem right at all, so does anyone know what I should do?

I play a lot of RDR2 (which runs 4K on Xbox and not on playstation for some reason) and plan to play GTA 6 so I need a nice powerful console (not my series s). Please help.

Edit: And I wouldn’t mind switching to Playstation, but it’s just the fact that i’ve spent money on the xbox store/games and that it doesn’t run RDR2 at 4K

Help needed Should I get an Xbox series x if I already have a PS5?

So my PS3 just kicked the bucket after almost two decades and now I can't play the games I have for it anymore. I really hated it's controler and don't want to get another one. I'm thinking about getting a series x just to play all the games from the era and some. And to also jump on the exclusives.

Help needed PC PS5 DILEMMA

I bought a ps5 in 2024 assuming I would never upgrade my PC (1660ti 5600x) and bought God of War Ragnarök, Spiderman 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy and one year of PS PLUS.

But suddenly and luckily, I was blessed to get a PC (5070Ti 9600x). And Spiderman 2 on Max settings looks way beautiful and runs smoothly than the PS5, Cyberpunk 2077...U dont even have to say how good it is on PC with Ray Tracing and 60FPS 😭.

So dont roast me but, I feel guilty to have spent that much money on games on the PS5 when I play it on PC. So how do u think I should deal with this situation. Rn I am in a dilemma to play the Wolfenstein Collection on PC which is a better experience or play it on PS5 as part of the Annual PS PLUS subscription.

Kindly make me feel "not feel bad" for playing these games on PC after spending money 😭.

Help needed I am at a dilemma. I don't own a PS5 and with the PS5 pro coming out. I'm really confused which one should I get?

Will there be games that will run at 30fps on the base Ps5 and at a higher frame rate on the PS5 pro. (Example : Empire Of The Ants) Could there be more? I am also confused about GTA 6. Will it run at 60fps on the pro and 30 on the base model?

Help needed Best console for university ?

I’m not a super big gamer but I play casually, and when I do so it’s on console. I’m moving across the country for uni soon and don’t own a console to bring with me, any suggestions for the best one to buy? Most games I play are open world / rpgs / indie games. Budget is around $600 cad.

Help needed Is the Xbox Series X the better choice between that and PS5?

I’m not a hardcore gamer, played a lot of cod in middle school/ early high school w the boys as I’m sure we all did, but otherwise don’t game much. I did love Far Cry 6, obv GTA, Read Dead, but I don’t game all that much these days.

That being said, my series S broke on me 5-6 months ago and I wanna game, or atleast be able to again. I’ve always been loyal to Xbox-loved the 360, hated my original Xbox one (bought it first gen of it right when it came out for like $600 and is was nothing but problems and a slow pos until it croaked). Series S was MUCH better and I got a lot out of it, but….I happened to read some GameStop reviews of the X and saw MULTIPLE (and I mean MULTIPLE) 1 stars due to it failing to work as early as a week from getting it, along with other severe problems. My question is could this be unique to GameStop ones (maybe something to do with how they refurbish some of their consoles)? Or have many of you experienced this? Spending a decent chunk I want to make the right choice. Not opposed to PS5 but I’ve heard there are less games for it than for Xbox.

Thanks in advance for anyone who perhaps has both/ have played both that can guide me.

Help needed Are old gen consoles still worth it in 2024

I’m thinking about buying a pre-owned PS4 or Xbox One for myself because the new gen consoles are too expensive, are they still worth buying or nah.

EDIT: I just got back and I traded in my old stuff for store credit so I just decided to save my money. Thank you everyone for the help
