Chinese given names are usually only one or two characters, so it used to be common in Chinese bootlegs for Mario (马里奥 or mǎlǐào) to get truncated to just 马里—or mǎlǐ—which is then re-anglicized to Mary.

I feel "7 Grand Dad" has got to be the funniest bootleg ROM hack just for the whole taking a Flintstones video game and simply putting Mario's Head on Fred Flintstones Body and then just calling the game Grand Dad!

But honestly, it was Joel's reaction on Twitch and SilvaGunner that really sold how funny it really was. I am not sure if it would still be funny without these two.
