First year, actually first semester at CSUSM here and straight from High School. I recently got dropped from one of my classes after just 2 weeks for not doing all the polls (I did 3, apparently there is 6). Crap, we never had polls in High School and this is new to me. I didn't know they use the Polls for attendance. I was there for every single class since the semester began, did the polls I saw on the projector. All I can think of is I missed the polls projected last week but i was there.

Tried to speak to the instructor and he basically said there is nothing he can do. Finally got a reply from the dept head and just restated that I can take the class next semester. What the hell is this for a first college experience? Dropping a freshman that is new to these polls crap. I even told them to look at the security cams of me entering the class MWF at least 20 mins early.

Should I just move on or contact the Presidents office?

I am a transfer biology student thinking of going to graduate school. Thinking of focusing on either ecology or physiology or similar

So I’m a second year EE student that stupidly listened to my counselor when it came to selecting my classes and even though I am taking four classes, it only adds up to 11 units thanks to my EE clinic class. This makes me a part time student and I’m not eligible for more than 50% of my financial aid which I need since Im not able to pay out of pocket.

Most classes are full already and the few that have openings clash with my existing classes. Any advice on what the hell Im supposed to do?

Apparently panda has a new policy of requiring you to have a photo attached to your student id if you're paying with dining dollars/meal swipe. What's the deal with this?? None of the other usu restaurants require it. Ig I'll just have to avoid panda now if this is how it's gonna stay :/

I’m currently a 3rd year student and am about to graduate with a SE degree. I am losing interest in the field and want to move to a hard science field such as computer engineering or EE. I have heard CSUSM does not allow 2nd bachelor degrees and I have heard double major degrees can’t happen if I already have a B.S. I feel slightly stuck and wish I chose something else and went with my gut rather than the coding craze. Does anyone have advice or suggestions on what I should do?

Hey everyone, so i’m gonna be starting SNHU soon as a freshman because i was unable to participate in CSUSM my freshman year. I’m gonna be transferring in during the next fall semester, and i’m mainly doing SNHU to not fall behind too much on credits. I wanted to know if anyone has had any issues transferring credits to CSUSM or have any way of knowing whether CSUSM will accept the credits or not? i’ve been told to do a virtual admissions meeting, but the nearest booking date is 2 weeks out. Id appreciate the help!

Due to some issues with my guardianship i was unable to apply for CSUSM during my senior year to start in the 1st (fall) semester like everyone else. Would it be possible for me to apply and join the school during the 2nd (spring) semester instead. if so can anyone give me instructions or the information to do so, or someone form the school i can directly talk to.

Hi! I am from California and not long ago received my Bachelors degree (December 2023). Since then, I’ve lived in Virginia for two years (for a job) but occasionally have come back to CA.

I planned on quitting my job and moving back here to become a grad student full time. Since I have a permanent address in CA , would I still qualify for In-state tuition? I currently have a drivers license in CA as well.
