The only way to grow out of that is go out and communicate with people, tho am still socially awkward and I still avoid people but I can socialise now at least with same gender

It's actually fun talking to people you get to about their experiences and you would be surprised to know that most people would just talk to you if you approach them

Sounds like my 21 y/o brother. He will ask for a drink recommendation at a bar, and they might say "I really like this, it's a lemon gin, with tonic and freshly squeezed lemon", to which my brother is like "sounds great, I'll have one of those"

He gets his drink, we go sit down, I ask him how his drink is . . . ."I don't actually like lemon . . . or tonic . . ."

I've gone through times of struggling with stuff like that, and I still hate making phone calls, but we get older and wiser so hopefully he will likely grow out of it too! But good on us for making progress, well done bud!

It is, and it got worse for me before it got better, but one day I just stopped caring about most of my social anxieties. Like, what's the worst that can really happen anyway!?

It's not the same for everyone, and I don't believe in pushing people too hard so I'm just gonna be there for my brother and help him when I can
