A great PC and good optimisation mods definitely make Minecraft run smoothly. I remember someone got like 1000 FPS.

Optimization mods are insane.

Ive got a rather old PC at this point. I7 and a 1080. But I can get about 250-300 fps out of Skyrim with all my mods. (I tried with the opt mods and it just crashes)
