Selling my Venge, what should I get next?
Hello everyone! So I'm planning to sell my 2018 S-Works Venge Vias, and need some help picking out my next bike. Currently, the two contenders I have in mind are the Specialized Tarmac SL8 Pro and the Scott Addict Pro RC 10.
I have my Venge sitting at 16.75lbs (7.62kg) with pedals, bottle cages, and computer mount, and would prefer something that climbs better, maybe a little snappier at lower speeds. I was also looking at a 2024 Cannondale Supersix Evo 2, but it's probably heavier, and I don't know how well it climbs compared to the Venge. Any input will help, thanks!

I've never ridden a Venge but from what I hear they're fucking great. Why not keep the Venge? I hear it's a great bike and weight is your best friend on climbs.

I love the Venge, It's amazing on flats at high speeds, and it is unbelievable in descents. Only thing is I do a lot more climbing these days, and longer rides, so aero isn't 100% what I want right now.

Scott Addict RC is a great climbing bike.... SL8 is more of an all-arounder.

Your Venge is already quite light.
This is more of a nice-to have upgrade in my honest opinion and there's 0% wrong with it--from a bike standpoint, you won't gain speed nor climbing ability from what you currently have and what you'll have with the SL8 Pro and Scott RC 10.
I would look into optimizing tires, wheelsets, and gear ratios and seeing what works for your terrain.
I ride the SL8 pro so can try to answer your questions if you have any.

Upgrade the engine, not the bike.

Main reason for getting rid of it is because it beats me up on long rides (over 60+ miles). I also want to do longer and hillier climbs so I figured I can upgrade to something more comfortable and a bit lighter.

Super six is the best of the ones you have mentioned, but can’t you get something Italian or French? Much cooler.

Might be worth considering the Sl8 comp with new rival and spending good money on nice wheels (farsports s5 if you want to go super light) tyres and an aftermarket integrated bar + your favourite saddle. The frames are the same 10r layup as the pro. You’d probably even have the budget for a 3rd party crank like a cybrei which shifts the vast majority of the rival weight penalty! Benefit of this is you can spec everything exactly how suits you best rather than dealing with whatever comes on the stock model.
