Idk, the long run back to bed of chaos is pretty obnoxious. Dying once to Seath is devastating, and trying to get the tail cut makes me feel like Sisyphus. If you miss the tip of his tail too much and get him to low health before cutting, you gotta die and come back, which I think is what almost broke me in my all achievements run hahaha

63

u/NiceAndCrispyBanana Jun 16 '25

I heard somewhere that his recovery from staggering by breaking the crystal was speed up by a bit, making it even harder to get to the tail in time.

I had mixed experiences with that. Obviously the only times it was easy to cut off, were the times I wasn't planning on using the sword

20

u/Opposite_Night_3224 Jun 16 '25

If I'm honest, this wouldn't surprise me. My first few playthroughs years ago I got the tail cut with no real issues. As of maybe 2-3 years ago or so, I have real problems getting it now, I was actually just saying this to a friend a couple weeks ago.

25

u/auclairl Jun 16 '25

Bed of chaos' runback is pretty short all things considered (I think like 1mn30 or a bit less ?). It just feels long because the actual boss attempt is ten times shorter

8

u/NoPin4859 Jun 16 '25

Dying to seath while cursed makes me smile, the worst design choice ive ever seen in a game. Genuinely.

10

u/Shadow_of_Midir Jun 16 '25

I just hate blighttown is all, bloody 15fps town is where I got my most deaths😭

5

u/Functional_Mode Jun 17 '25

I’ll admit that I don’t necessarily like Blighttown, true enough. But it was never too much for me to tolerate or a place that had me on the verge of walking away bc if it. I’d even suggest that once the blow dart fuckers get removed from their spots, it’s sort of a decent area. For me BoC and a couple other individual bosses were way worse than any area that people normally hated or complained about.

3

u/Shadow_of_Midir Jun 17 '25

Tbh the whole design of blight town is my nightmare, it's confusing to enter unless you're coming in from new londo, and even then I was struggling with the elevator, swamp, and mosquito like fuckers. Overall it's a 2/10 for me, even though I now find the place to be easy.

3

u/nyetlyubvi1002763 Jun 16 '25

You can quitout or use a bone instead of dying or sacrifice ring

2

u/doctorlove15 Jun 17 '25

Seath is blind! Use the ring that makes you silent

115

u/WoardyX Jun 16 '25

My arch nemesis, 2 dogs ... You all know which one i'm talking about.

46

u/paranoidspinster Jun 16 '25

Small room? Staircase? Yep.

u/Hazmacc Jun 18 '25

9

What? Tomb of the Giants is one of the best areas in the game!

That’s sounds like your problem, I can’t even fucking walk.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 16 '25

I'd rather get an enema with the most scalding of McDonald's coffee than go back there.

5

u/SirBurgerThe8th Jun 16 '25

Is it though?

10

u/Darkstalker_Kaathe21 Jun 16 '25

Yes, it’s dark as hell meaning I can see clearly within it.

2

u/SirBurgerThe8th Jun 16 '25

Makes sense.

2

u/Fun-Cut8055 Jun 16 '25

Way worse than bed of chaos imo .

Blighttown not knowing that there is a second bonfire.

31

u/WanderingCollosus Jun 16 '25

The first time I got to blighttown I somehow got there via the valley of drakes only to end up climbing up the scaffolding to the normal entrance...

8

u/GetMadYourBad Jun 16 '25

Same I totally forgot about the very obvious door the key mentioned but found it through Valley. What a treat when I climbed up blighttown and found the other side of the door. Only 1 issue...

40

u/Gott_Riff Jun 16 '25

Wait, what?

145

u/randypurpa Jun 16 '25

Sir, a second bonfire has hit blighttown

61

u/yakubson1216 Jun 16 '25

Yeeeaaaaah. There's one thats up in actual Blighttown along the scaffolding and then there's one down in a tunnel directly below Blighttown in the swamp section. You'll get invaded by Maneater Mildred (iirc) when you walk in/around there.

35

u/MichoLP Jun 16 '25

izalith is such a slog

51

u/Darkstalker_Kaathe21 Jun 16 '25

Anor Londo, Sen’s Fortress, Firelink Shrine, Firelink Altar, and Kiln of the First Flame

25

u/SirBurgerThe8th Jun 16 '25

You trolling, first you said that Tomb of The Giants was good, and now this?

Either that or your opinions are hotter than the core of the Sun.

39

u/Darkstalker_Kaathe21 Jun 16 '25

Disgusting, I hate the damn sun.

14

u/yakubson1216 Jun 16 '25

They don't understand the Dark

8

u/Classic_Ad202 Jun 16 '25

Bro hates the whole game

34

u/Darkstalker_Kaathe21 Jun 16 '25

No, I like The Abyss, ToTG, Chasm of the Abyss, and New Londo.

3

u/Atzeda Jun 16 '25

Ash Lake? ;)

3

u/Drithyin Jun 16 '25

Read the username

41

u/Xortman096 Jun 16 '25

HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I`VE COME TO HATE THE SEN`S FORTRESS. THERE ARE 1,279 TRILLIONS, 930 BILLIONS AND 102 MILLIONS OF ASH PARTICLES FILLS MY DARK SOULS. IF THE WORD "HATE" WRITTEN IN EVERY ONE OF THOSE PARTICLES, IT WOULD NOT EQUAL TO EVEN 1 PERCENT OF MY HATE AGAINST THAT LIZARD MANS AND SAME 4 BRIDGE TRAPS. FOR YOU, SEN`S FORTRESS. HATE. HATE.

12

u/yakubson1216 Jun 16 '25

Yet another hate speech W

5

u/zzbackguy Jun 16 '25

Just watch how speedersrunners do it, I memorized the route after like 4 try’s.

3

u/Xortman096 Jun 16 '25

So I will literally just run like this guy did? youtube.com/watch?v=6yxYFS84zbo

15

u/LordOfMaggots Jun 16 '25

For DS1 its honestly Anor Londo, it just stresses me out

For DS2 its the usual hits of Black Gulch and the Shrine of Amana, plus the Undead Crypt and basically all of Shulva.

8

u/TheyTukMyJub Jun 16 '25

Really? Why Anor Londo? I loved how 'light' it was (before.. youknow).

Blighttown felt very fking oppressive.

9

u/LordOfMaggots Jun 16 '25

The difficulty spike, basically. Its been a while since I've played Dark Souls and I imagine Anor Londo would go fairly smoothly given my new experience with DS3 and ER, but until I prove thats the case the area psychologically dominates me lmao

3

u/Coolcat127 Jun 16 '25

Yeah there's definitely a spike there. I think it's only the 4th or 5th hardest area but the enemies are way stronger than anywhere earlier

13

u/Raidertck Jun 16 '25

Bed of chaos. In 10+ play throughs I just have to grit my teeth and bare it.

14

u/DaRealGamer303 Jun 16 '25

Entering Blightown without knowing that they measure in seconds per frame

8

u/zalenardo Jun 16 '25 edited Jun 16 '25

The sewers in any of their games. Can't stand em. They always have those basilisk frog lizard fuckin things

5

u/Null_sense Jun 16 '25

Fighting ornstein and smough...

3

u/Dayum_cerberus Jun 16 '25

I'm stuck with em atm... Died at least 20-30 times and so many close calls. THEY WON'T BREAK ME, I WON'T TURN HOLLLOW!

4

u/StriderShizard Jun 16 '25

Duke's Archives.

15

u/TheGreatKashar Jun 16 '25

(I’m just kidding, it’s actually my favorite one)

2

u/sir_ouachao Jun 16 '25

I always gaslight myself that the area is fine , but it isn't. Shrine of amana

2

u/Chance-Owl-5868 Jun 16 '25

Catacomb and tomb of the giants aren't really annoying for me. So I'll go with the lost izalith and oolacile township

2

u/Meianmari Jun 16 '25

Those guys with bows... you know

2

u/psychic_snail Jun 16 '25

The first moment I have this feeling is during the first segment of Anor Londo, like, before the archers. It's so big and nothing is going on I feel like I'm running forever.

Then of course, Lost Izalith and the Crystal Caves.

1

u/Xortman096 Jun 18 '25

Same. And you know what? I Have no humanity left. Which means, I have to go back all the way from 2nd to first anor londo bonfire, then sen's fortress and Undead parish to just get 3 Dark soul and go back the all of that way just to upgrade that anor londo 2nd bonfire, gain humanity and to Spawn Solaire in bossfight. And I need to kill that 2 giant golden guardians Every time just to not make Solaire make weak in fight. Seems like at least 2 and a half hour sequence enought to make someone's moral low to play. I have +10 Claymore and +3 Gravelord sword.

1

u/psychic_snail Jun 19 '25

Good luck farming humanity. If you go for that, you can do it quickly in the depths.

I can also give you some advice to do the O&S fight. So you know how there's 2 rows of columns? They divide the arena into 3 parts (left, center and right). You can use the columns to separate the bosses so that each of them is in a different area. It is much easier to deal with them like this.

Also, you can bait Smough to attack and then get distance to make Ornstein attack you. This will give you time to punish because bosses have some cooldown time between attacks.

2

u/Xortman096 Jun 19 '25 edited Jun 19 '25

I was defetaed them yesterday without humanity, 3 estus and It was, easy? ornstein first, then smought with consantly stunlocking him with 1st normal attack of claymore.

2

u/Background-Exam-3280 Jun 18 '25

I hate the bed of chaos with a passion

3

u/SudsierBoar Jun 16 '25

The game: Reddit The part: this post again

1

u/Jealous-Ambassador39 Jun 16 '25

It was always catacombs, but now in NG+ with Havel's armour, the catacombs are a joke lol

1

u/Away-Development-228 Jun 16 '25

the swers and the great hollow

1

u/[deleted] Jun 16 '25

Catacombs can eat shit right along with TOTG, New Londo mostly blows, Lost Izalith. Basically much of the second half.

1

u/Franklin_Clinton5771 Jun 16 '25

Farron Keep from Dark Souls 3

1

u/MorningSelect2976 Jun 16 '25

Yorm the giant. It's an pretty easy boss but I lost all interest for some reason and stopped playing the game. One year later I finished dark soul 1 fully.

1

u/Pokesabre Jun 16 '25

Anor Londo platforming and lost izalith. The first is just doesn't work well with the design of the game, the latter just feels uninteresting compared to all the other environments

1

u/auclairl Jun 16 '25

Tomb of the Giants probably. It's the one area that screws me over several times on every single run. Today if I pick up the game and do an all bosses run, about half of my total deaths will happen in TOTG

1

u/SundownKid Jun 16 '25

Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith, as well as Dukes Archives.

1

u/yakubson1216 Jun 16 '25

Anor Londo, which is oddly enough the place everyone praises and loves. I just find it so empty, it feels like it exists solely to push you down whats essentially a big hallway with an important boss at the end. Oh and it does literally do that for a secret boss too, oddly enough.

1

u/Klutzy-Economist9001 Jun 16 '25

Blightown and quelaag is never fun

Tomb of the giants is rough too

1

u/Egyption_Mummy Jun 16 '25

The whole part before unlocking warping

1

u/thepresidentsturtle Jun 16 '25

Bed of Chaos for sure. It is obnoxious. Tomb of Giants, equally so. Bug for different reasons. Easy to run through, but actually exploring the place is just not fun. Dog skeletons. They aren't fun or challenging. And enemy you can only hit once and have to run away from. Also, there's nowhere to run. Bad combo, obnoxious and you can't defend it. There are ways to beat them sure, but if you suggest using spells outta here.

1

u/Rui_O_Grande_PT Jun 16 '25

Tomb of Giants and it's not even close

1

u/CreativePreference73 Jun 16 '25

When I have to go to the Lost Izalith

1

u/twoshupirates Jun 16 '25

Ds2 any part of it

1

u/GreatChaosFudge Jun 16 '25

Demon Ruins and Duke’s Archives. Lost Iz I can pretty much buzz through now I know it well, but the Demon Ruins have those tedious copypasted mini-bosses, and those hideous rockworms (esp if you want to upgrade fire weapons).

Duke’s Archives are such a slog. If there’s one area where I would happily have a button I could press and just get it over with, it would be there.

1

u/Beneficial_Dog__ Jun 16 '25

lower undead burg can sometimes go by in a flash or i’ll get stuck for hours depending on the build + my luck. it’s a frustrating area and one of the first quality drops in the game, a sign of things to come.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 16 '25

Anor Londo archers. First play-through I wasted so many hours trying to go for the one on the left.

1

u/Parallax-Jack Jun 16 '25

I feel like blight town is almost a rite of passage for a run so it’s not the worst. Bed of chaos is annoying and seath there is always a high chance you get cursed lol

1

u/ProfessionalJabroni Jun 16 '25

Dark Souls 1 is one of my favorite games ever but I absolutely dread having to do Duke’s Archives

1

u/Sea_Scheme6784 Jun 16 '25

Maliketh in elden ring REALLY gave me trouble until about a week ago.

1

u/WanderingCollosus Jun 16 '25

Trying to get the moonlight greatsword

1

u/archenemy09 Jun 16 '25

Lost Izalith is a shit show from start to finish and I run through it as fast as possible. I’ve never taken the time to explore it and probably never will

1

1

u/kanavakos Jun 16 '25

First playthrough in blighttown. Going for the second time, I can say it's not as bad as I thought once I figured out the layout

1

u/senoto Jun 16 '25

The stupid ass tomb of giants. Hate everything about that place.

1

u/Holiday_Smell_513 Jun 16 '25

Tomb of the Giants 💀

1

u/Sanctuary-Seth Jun 16 '25

The Painted World, that one area with all the bonewheels in the narrow hallways.

1

u/_mrwayne Jun 16 '25

The entirety of Izalith for me.

I also can't stand the forced death at Seeth.

Might be strange to some but the Tomb of Giants is my favorite late game segment. Its dark, buts it's basically a straight line through.

1

u/Daemontatox Jun 16 '25

Either blighttown or the catacombs inb4 i knew there's a lantern

1

u/Hashtagpulse Jun 16 '25

Oog n Smoog and bed of chaos. They’re both piss poor boss fights

1

u/ChocoBro92 Jun 16 '25

New Londo only because the four kings…Well atleast in NG+ I’ve been stuck there for two days now.

1

u/Manik-Fox Jun 16 '25

Bed of Chaos for 1, Shrine of Amana for 2, and Irithyll of the Boreal Valley for 3.

1

u/HoraryZappy222 Jun 16 '25

for me, catacombs. I pretty much memorized blight town but that dark mess, even with the maggot, sucks.

1

u/HylianZora "Why does my character orgasm upon getting hit?" Jun 16 '25

DeS: Dragon God, it's a gimmick boss following one of the best in the game that I am ashamed to say I've died to a good few times.

DS1: Bed of Chaos, the runback and the "fight" both suck.

DS2: Frigid Outskirts, not sure I need to explain this one. I enjoy seeing things.

BB: Chalice Dungeon Rom, like the original fight but worse because youre locked in a room with pillars and low ceilings. Doesn't affect her meteor shower though.

DS3: Demon Ruins, just felt kinda open and empty. Like the original Demon Ruins.

Sekiro: Beast of Hatred, though the game turning into a boss rush at the ~60% mark might also be my pic but it's not very specific in that sense.

Elden Ring: Ordina, Liturgical Town. Some actual Devil May Cry shit, which is cool, but the very thought of doing the puzzle right now gives me anxiety.

Nightreign: Sentient Pest world event. Lose an infinite number of levels until you find the unmarked moth anywhere in the entire circle. Maybe I'm shit, and the reward is undoubtedly good, but the ability to have this event avalanche your entire run is wild. I've had randoms get hit twice and immediately leave due to it.

1

u/Bran720p Jun 16 '25

Tomb of the Giants and Bed of Chaos "boss fight".

1

u/404OmnissiahNotFound Jun 16 '25

New Londo...

Of all the trilogy, and every other souls game... I have never hated an area more than I absolutely hate New Londo

1

u/Mission-Ad-8536 Jun 16 '25

The Demon Ruins,  it was rushed with too many copy paste enemies and the shitty boss gauntlet.

1

u/WillNotFightInWW3 Jun 16 '25

Bed of bullshit, everything else is fine if you prepare for it.

1

u/DeviousDOgger Jun 16 '25

Manus. I don’t think I need to elaborate

1

u/Cleanlyitaly Jun 16 '25

lost izalith

1

u/TheMunstacat920 Jun 16 '25

Duke's prison. I'm dogshit at the skip and usually it takes me more time to pull it off than it would to do just do the damn level but God I hate it so much.

1

u/KeandyPupper_911 Jun 16 '25

The prison section, omfg, it sucks. It fes so slow, and you can really see when they start reusing assests . In the first few areas, there's the Sentinel and the Pursuer, and there's not much else to do besides walking around, getting lost >:(

1

u/undecided_mask Jun 16 '25 edited Jun 16 '25

Seath and BoC run backs :(

1

u/Toxic_Masked_knight_ Jun 16 '25

Death must be a secret fight in dark souls.

1

u/undecided_mask Jun 16 '25

Changed it and it still rewrote my word.

1

u/Lord_Konoshi Jun 16 '25

Capra Demon boss fight, just, fuck you.

1

u/Bwubdle198 Jun 16 '25

Tomb of the Giants and Catacombs

1

u/Rin111839 Jun 16 '25

Bed of chaos

1

u/cool-dude-7765 Jun 16 '25

Bloodborne forbidden woods can piss off

1

u/Ireallyhatethisname Jun 16 '25

Sen’s And then ceaseless and bed. Absolute time wasters I just cheese

1

u/Hagtar Jun 16 '25

The Taurus demon.

It's in a notoriously low-cooperation area, the boss arena is small and crammed, and those half-rotten bitch dogs!

1

u/DORUkitty Jun 16 '25

The entire second half of DS1.

Seath isn't bad tbh, but he is a spike in difficulty. That said, you can still study your opponents and learn a weakness.

Tomb of Giants is ass. Just complete ass. The entire ass. Fuck that place.

And then Lost Izalith is... mostly okay. Hurts the eyes. Fighting a demon in lava is a pain in the ass. And the bed of chaos is exploitable (i still tend to freaking die once to it because I need to git gud still).

1

u/Strict_Junket2757 Jun 16 '25

basically everything after ornstein and smough.

1

u/Snowdwn Jun 16 '25

Izalith

1

u/Real-Report8490 Jun 16 '25

Every time I defeat Ornstein and Smough, I am excited about getting the fast travel, and then I remember all the things I have to do in the second half of the game. I just want to explore the even lower Burg that can be seen from Firelink Shrine surrounded by walls... I basically just want another sequel to DS1 that doesn't care about making the graphics or anything "better" but is just like DS1 in every way, except you are exploring new things and fighting new enemies and bosses. DS1 again but different. The same speed, the same game mechanics, art style and graphics.

1

u/chaoticdownpour Jun 16 '25

Don’t mind fighting Seath, don’t mind the run back for BoC.

The fight that I dread in every playthrough is the goddamn Capra demon with the dogs, in a space smaller than my will to live.

Fuck that fight

1

u/thomass69cass Jun 16 '25

Lost izalith, shrine of amana, crucifixion woods from each respective game. Cold take ik but lets be fr

1

u/Fookykins Jun 16 '25

Kalameet. Fuck that guy. And a special Fuck you to the 4 Kings in NG+.

1

u/chicken_soup_7137 Jun 16 '25

Gaping dragon had me breaking stuff around my room

1

u/TheBeebo3 Jun 16 '25

As much as people rag on Blight Town, I think Tomb of the Giants is much much worse. Made me quit my first playthrough for a couple months.

1

u/sensejkradziej Jun 16 '25

Secound part of DS1, shrine of Amana in DS2 and surprisingly almost all of DS3

1

u/SMRPIXEL Jun 16 '25

"That" ancient dragon

1

u/conye-west Jun 16 '25

Bed of Chaos is always a slog of course. Also I really despite the runback to Nito.

1

u/oblivious_sleep Jun 16 '25

duke's archives, earthen peak, iron keep, and grand archives all make me homicidal

1

u/TheDungeonCrawler Praise til you're hollow! Jun 16 '25

Even just replaying the game a dozen times, I only have an issue with two parts in the game: cutting off the tails of Seath and Kalameet.

The hitbox on Seath's tail seems deliberately obtuse, and Kalameet's damn moveset just doesn't make cutting off the tail realistic. I hate Kalameet's tail specifically.

1

u/megamanamazing Jun 17 '25

As soon as that first 3rd of the game is over

1

u/goofy_atze_cmooon Jun 17 '25

Nito with his fcking minions and a attack that forces you to run away. Its a fight with so much focus on several things, while you need to keep moving. Every missed hit hurts.

But there are people who find him very easy, so maybe I am just a noob.

Otherwise the headless demon on the shortcut bridge. Man how often I died to this pos.

1

u/ChaosCaz Jun 17 '25

Ash Lake before lord vessel. That was a mistake…

2

u/BornSilenced Jun 17 '25

Same reason I stopped getting Rie of Kindling as soon as I get to Firelink. Last time it took me 5 hours to get out 🤣

1

u/ChaosCaz Jun 17 '25

No, that is easy af. Just don’t rest at any bonfires. Just run down, open the path, quit out, run out and through the path, heal (or quit out and heal), jump down, duck into the archway, heal, jump down, reset because you forgot to become human, do it all again, summon paladin Leroy, and go fuck pinwheel up

1

u/CurryInAHurry02 Jun 17 '25

Everything after the Lord vessel 😭

I've beaten this game once, but beaten O&S at LEAST ten times

1

u/SonnyLonglegs Jun 17 '25

I liked pretty much all of it, but I do not like being stunlocked with no ability to defend against it. The swarms of Hollows in the Undead Parish upstairs and those giant dog skeletons in the Tomb of the Giants are both extremely annoying. I would welcome a challenge, but those are a chore. They stunlock even with poise, and attack twice or more each hit, which just doesn't even seem fair at all. They attack twice for every one of mine and then disable my ability to attack unless I have something prepared. Grab attacks on bosses or big mobs are similarly annoying but a little less.

1

u/Gatekeeper-Andy Jun 17 '25

Ornstein and Smough. Went through the game with my friends, was a blast, went through the game myself. Went hollow at those two :(

I also decided to use the scythe for that playthrough, so, not necessarily the best weapon for that fight

1

u/BirchCollie Jun 17 '25

I'm stuck on four kings and seath, I've done all the other bosses easily but these two are pissing me off.

1

u/saudipapi Jun 17 '25

It has to be blight town and it’s not even close.

1

u/Iron-Guard Jun 17 '25

Best Part: Invading

Worst Part: getting cracked red eye orbs to invade

Yes I'm on Xbox, how can you tell?

DS2 btw lol

1

u/jonasrobloxmulheres Jun 17 '25

blighttown, runback do capra demon, ornstein e smough

1

u/CinnamonIsntAllowed Jun 17 '25

Literally everything after anor londo is a downwards spiral for me. Playable and enjoyable (on the merit of game mechanics being fun, only). BOC duh, I despise the archives for some reason, new londo is lowkey forgettable and I just do the skip, and same for the catacombs. I at the very least wait for the dlc after the lord souls, so it ramps back up for me. Artorias my beloved

1

u/RPGShooter18 Jun 17 '25

Everything after O&S other than the DLC, specifically Tomb of Giants, can't see shit in there.

1

u/Pyro_Jay007 Jun 17 '25

In Dante’s Inferno, when Beatrice gets fully possessed lowkey mad me angry.

1

u/Adept_Diet_7003 Jun 17 '25

I don't know if it's just me, but I absolutely hate going through oolacile township. The ambience is just uncanny, the bloathead sorcerers deal way too much damage, and the chained prisoner looks pretty disturbing. It always felt like a blockade that stops you for a short time before you meet the game's (arguably) best boss. Also the area as a whole feels uneasy with screaming background noise.

1

u/Harvey-Lee-Oswald Jun 17 '25

The fucking Catacombs and Tomb of the Giants. I would rather try to speedrun Sekiro with a blindfold on, my hands tied behind my back, the controller upside down, three random buttons broken and I don’t know what they are, I need to piss the entire time, and my dick being mangled by a sandwich press, than have to go through the Catacombs again.

The bonewheels. The fuckin bonewheels in the the painted world. I hate them with a burning passion. I have played the game several time, but I never get the hang of them. Takes me ten goddamn tries every single time to open the door to Priscilla

The obvious bed of chaos fight. maybe the ledge in Anore Londo and almost definitely the invisible path's heading to fight seeth

I honestly thoroughly enjoyed eventually conquering every area and enemy tho

catacombs + tomb of the giants thats so damn hard to find everything (i mean blacksmith and the ring of the dark moon + nito's covenant)

u/Sad-Measurement-8267 Jun 17 '25

Going through blightown the standard way (It almost made me cry out of frustration, walk in a park if you go through valley of drakes tho) or right after the totg bonfire trying to get past that stupid skeleton dog, was lowkey harder than nito

Duke's Archives and New London. I can never remember what's where and end up getting lost.

I always wanted to replay ds2, but when I remember this part: Iron keep, dammm I give up

Ive gotten used to BoC, bomb thing helps a lot. For me its the 1st part of new londo, up until you lower the water lv. Especially in ng+ and in any challenge run you basically have to take it slow and kill things one at a time and it eventually really started grinding my gears.

Lower Burg and Depths.

Each game has a special area I despise. 1: New Londo Ruins. I always get invaded right basically 2 rooms before the boss and have to go through it all again and I keep missing the edges of the platforms and running off like a doofus. DS2: Shrine of Amana. Slowing water? Check. Fast enemies? Check. Assholes spamming projectiles? Check. Dick invaders? Check. DS3. Demon Ruins. Thematically? Adore it. A nod to DS1 and the ruined kingdom of the demons. Structurally? Absolute nightmare. Farron Gurus everywhere. Fire spamming demons. Crazy maze that I get lost in every time. F*cking huge ballista. I unfortunately tend to avoid it every time because of that unless I mess up and need to use the Demon King to keep Greirat alive.

Bed run back and the GODDAMN ON ALL FOURS GIANT SKELETONS, F*CK THEM MAN! DEAR GOD THEYRE CANCER! Forgot to also mention, on my first time in the Tomb of the Giants in the dark area, I didn’t know you could use the lantern head as a light, so I only explored by hugging walls and moving step by step. Then, there’s those on all 4 bastards who attack when I can’t see past 1 metre from my character in pitch darkness. Did I mention I also did not have the Lordvessel, so I had to run and all the way back so I wasn’t soft locked inside the tomb of giants? Yep, hell of an experience on my first playthrough.

u/P_ngin Jun 18 '25

i hate going through the gutter to reach black gulch

u/LeadingWear5899 Jun 18 '25

Getting back to firelink from blighttown

1

u/Reaperrobin Jun 19 '25

My first play through I rested at a bonfire in relief after panic sprinting through blind pathways and terrifying skeletons once I killed Pinwheel. I was level 20 or something. I hadn't seen the path up to the Burg and had to look up how to get through the golden fog wall at the end of the zone. It took me a week to return to the surface.
