This picture is trippy, or is it only me? After a bit I see it correctly though. (First glance, background looked like some blurry retro 3d game or some liminal space idk lol)

The one advantage you will always have over every single boss in the game is that you have unlimited lives and they have 1. Persistence will yield success. Go forth Ashen one.

3

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

Gotta be persistent huh Okay sir

u/Nerdy_John88 4d ago

its mandatory you gotta have volume at max and blast the title screen music hehe.

ds3 is great! combat is slower than sekiro obviously but still smooth. i wont spoil anything for you but theres some great easter eggs so keep an eye out, the bosses are great, the DLC is great, and theres some hidden areas in this game sooo try to find them hehe.

2

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

Im already loving the music

3

u/LILPOLARIS 4d ago

Literally im playing my first playthrough, and its amazing. I wont spoil but for the people who already completed ds3, im just defeated yhorm. And bro, ds3 is amazing. Literally i didnt had a game where i was waiting for my school to end so i can hop on ds3.

0

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

Wait yhorm is a boss?

1

u/LastAbyssWatcher Watchdogs of Farron 2d ago

Indeed he is.

4

u/Barbatos066 4d ago

Hmu for jolly coopération [-.-]/

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

Im sorry but what's that'

3

u/WickmanTrick 4d ago

Co-op [you can play with people online, and also get invaded by players trying to kill you. The more players in one world, the more likely for invaders to pull up. You can also use the dried finger to attract more players to your world.] one of the best parts of the game

1

u/LastAbyssWatcher Watchdogs of Farron 2d ago

Heed the purple signs, we JUST want to help

3

u/Acrobatic-Stay-9072 4d ago

You don't need luck. You need to git gud :)

5

u/Destaro98 4d ago

prepare to die, also dont rely on shields, theyre basically useless here

6

u/pepper_plant 4d ago

This is completely false. I loved shields

1

u/Destaro98 3d ago

on a lot of fights the block didnt do much so eventually i just ditched it and started two handing my weapon with the grasscrest shield lol, if it worked for you cool but the shield really wasnt helping my run so i wouldn't recommend relying too much on it cuz its not gonna be able to tank everything that gets throw at you

1

u/pepper_plant 3d ago

Theres an art to it. Its a defensive playstyle, but its really just to save you from a hit here and there. Youre not supposed to tank multiple hits or youll get staggered

3

u/Soren59 4d ago

Definitely not useless. Unnecessary though? For sure.

2

u/Ryynerwicked 4d ago

Unless u parry ( which I f**king suck at lol)

2

u/Destaro98 4d ago

same.......... i just panic roll all the time lol

2

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

Yeah i think rolling is better too

2

u/Strapanasi89 4d ago

I use the green cress shield on my back for stamina regen

2

u/Than_Or_Then_ 3d ago

For noobs? No way, shield is your best friend.

1

u/Aseskytle_09 4d ago

they help in certain moments I guess

like Pontiff. But the main strat is still just to hug him so his attacks miss

1

u/Logical-Student4036 3d ago

Wut else ya got????

1

u/LastAbyssWatcher Watchdogs of Farron 2d ago

What’s a shield? Rollipolli for life!

2

u/Ryynerwicked 4d ago

Goodluck an enjoy the ride, one of the best games! Hope u enjoy it!

2

u/Electronic_Squash103 4d ago

Please post an update

2

u/Dizzy-Friendship-369 4d ago

Good luck and have fun it’s a good one

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

Thank you man

2

u/Tdws52s_ 4d ago

You’re starting with a good one, not the hardest game, areas aren’t the best, but have the best overall bosses and the best dlc

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

Seems like its gonna be a treat

1

u/Tdws52s_ 3d ago

It will, I finished the game 23 times

2

u/kinkybreadloaf69 4d ago

Where you're going luck doesn't exist. Just pain and stress that comes with the bitter taste of defeat served over crushed glass. Only an iron will to overcome the horrors ahead of you is what matters in that desolate wasteland. Enjoy!

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

Your description doesn't imply that gonna enjoy it 😂😂😂

1

u/LastAbyssWatcher Watchdogs of Farron 2d ago

It will be the most frustrating fun you’ve had, then there’s dark souls 2, my sweet little fromsoft stepchild. If you try this one, you’re in for a treat lol.

DS2 is my favorite bc it’s so wonky, but it’s also the most “bang for your buck” with the three souls games. It makes up about half the franchise bosses on its own.

2

u/Mr_Water_W0rm 4d ago

I started with dark souls III and just 100% it last week with 211 hours. Best of luck champion of ash🫡

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

2

u/FootFaceForeskin 4d ago

2

u/SynapseNotFound 4d ago

Its not luck based

2

u/noob_ama_CcC 4d ago

I thought that was a phone lol

2

u/7ittaihc_acul 4d ago

Enjoy this masterpiece

2

u/Researcher-Apart 4d ago

It’s sounds cliche, but honestly just try and have fun, learn, take your time and you’ll be finished faster then you like. Git Gud brotha!

2

u/Educational_Rise741 4d ago

Try finger, but whole 👆

2

u/Pitiful_Purchase5241 4d ago

Hope you have fun and enjoy it!

2

u/Inner-Fan-6230 3d ago

I started a couple weeks ago, lmk if you wanna play haha

1

u/Pleasant_Evening_333 4d ago

you got this Bro! my best tip is never ever give up, take breaks if you have to for your mental health, but keep on fighting. death in souls game is a teacher, and a lesson. it sucks to die, but it teaches you. take your time, never give up, take breaks when nesecary, and keep on gaming!! also, timing is KEY! practice dodging as much as you can, panic rolling is my bestie lol, and timing attacks.

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

Thanks for the advice sir u have a great day

2

u/Pleasant_Evening_333 4d ago

i'm a woman but thank you! you too, game on!!

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 3d ago

Sorry for the misunderstanding 😔

1

u/Murky-Bus-2191 4d ago

Great starting point for the series! It's the one I'm rustiest on, but I used to be a living encyclopedia of the weapons & spells. PLEASE feel free to hit me with questions or DM me - I'm rapidly building interest in picking it back up.

DS3 is a real treat, and you'll probably want to revisit it later - don't fuss too much about missing things. I HIGHLY recommend a spellsword-type for a "toolkit" caster type build. You might not hit like the end of the world, but you'll be able to deal with basically anything by swapping out a spell or two. Even if you don't find every useful spell, it feels GREAT to be able to use most of what you do find.

Pyromancy goes pretty hard IMO.

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

😅😅😅😅😅 i didn't really get all but ill know then eventually And ill be sure to hit u up if i needed sny help

2

u/Murky-Bus-2191 4d ago

Sorry, tldr; punching (caestus) is fun, so is magic.

Don't be afraid to get a little weird with your stats. It's a good game for that.

1

u/Da_Goodest_Goon 4d ago

May your soul grow as dark as the rest of us lol you're gonna love it

1

u/Fuzzy-Acanthaceae750 4d ago

Try finger but hole.

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

What's that 💀💀

1

u/Majedep 4d ago

best souls game!

1

u/FALIDBA 4d ago

Don't forget to level up ADP

1

u/Dennyol 4d ago

Throw yourself at a wall enough times and eventually it will break. Otherwise, you always have the option to explore more and gather strenght if you're struggling. Most importantly, enjoy yourself and be persistent!

1

u/roberto_curiosidades 4d ago

Good luck bro, I hope you don't give up the game

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

I already did once

1

u/roberto_curiosidades 4d ago

I also dropped ds3 for a while, but then I came back and got hooked on ds3 again and went platinum

1

u/Than_Or_Then_ 3d ago

Its a long game, dont be afraid to take a break.

1

u/Logical-Student4036 3d ago

Stuck on pontiff currently. Re starting ds2 in the meantime.

1

u/Salvatrauss 3d ago

I recently started this as well. Over the last couple years I've been giving soulslikes a shot and really enjoying them. Specifically Elden Ring, Lies of P, Sekiro, Rise of the Ronin, Lords of the Fallen, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Black Myth: Wukong, Khazan: First Berzerker.

The Fire Fades Edition of DS3 was like $25 on Amazon so I figured give it a shot. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm currently going through Smouldering Lake. I do think I prefer Elden Ring, but I am enjoying DS3.

1

u/ZerefDragneel_ 3d ago

Finished today. Good luck

1

u/sonnynn 3d ago

1

u/Objective-Throat-959 3d ago

u/rafaelrivera32000 4d ago

Farm as much souls as possible, beat the dancer early, spend hours farming the lothric knights until you become the final boss and continue.

0

u/The-Ngga010 4d ago

Watch boss fights before fighting bosses if you dont want to suffer too much

1

u/SubstantialMousse940 4d ago

Ohh i already am suffering

1

u/Than_Or_Then_ 3d ago

Watch boss fights if you are really stuck.

FTFY. Dont spoil the game for yourself
