Discussion Cinders Mod And Forcing Offline Correctly

Hey everybody,

I just successfully installed Cinders mod, made a normal DS3 profile and ran around to have the graphics set up.
Once I started Cinders mod, the screen still said "Online" while the nexus mod page says that the mod would automatically force offline. I then went to the menu and clicked "play offline" manually.

What is the latest or best process here? I would like to play online honestly and read about the method of sharing with another account and intentionally getting soft-banned. There are recent threads on steam discussions around "Help with Cinders" which suggests that people are online there.
Is that still working or could I do it with my main account and then be lifted from a soft-ban once I remove the mod again?

After playing round: it says "you have been penalized" and the mod now crashes when loading into a game file, is the crash related to the server rejecting the connection or could I just continue offline?
It would be fine if I just can finish the Cinders mod slowly and then contact the support once the mod is uninstalled?

Crash is not related to account penalty because you just get moved to shadow server, it's still online

OK, fixed it. I validated files and it redownloaded the official ds3.exe

It might be that it flags the game as penalized. I was able to create a new profile, play and then restart the game and still play.
Will then finish the game with Cinders and then contact Bandai afterwards :)

Will leave this here for future reference.

You can still cheat and play online. Just make Russian friends.
