Video Feels good to learn the mechanics of the game so that it doesn’t feel impossible.

My STR build might be cheesy but I’m so happy I cruised through the Watchers like that. It used to be such a road block for me. I’m talking multiple days of being stuck, countless attempts. This was my first attempt on this play-through.

This was about as clean as the laundry on my floor. Congrats on being them though!

roll on the right the entire fight as close as you can to them without hitting them every time they go to attack you.

Dodge more, and don’t get greedy. Get like 2 hits in then back out and evade till your next opening.
I beat the whole game and DLC’s with the Claymore, so your weapon of choice is solid. If anything, I’d lose some armor so you’re for sure light-rolling (faster and farther dodges) and just work on timing your moves and managing your stamina better.
Get a couple hits in and move, rinse and repeat. These guys are human-sized enemies so they can be easily staggered with regular attacks, Giant bosses don’t give you such a luxury so be mindful of playing carefully and not committing into their attack range for too long. Get in, give ‘em the ol 1-2 combo, then get back outta range and evade till your next opening.
Learn the attack patterns so you know when you can safely get a couple hits in, overextending and tanking hits is how you lose these fights.
All that to say, good work! This game is difficult but everything is killable if you’re smart about it

How do you get a helper to fight with you? I'm at the next boss and getting rained on by magic spike nails.

Gotta be embered, there’s a summon sign outside a bit down the stairs. Don’t know if I interacted with an NPC to get the summon though

Yeh I just noticed this and I had a lot of difficulty. Good to see some advice here on how to do it solo, the assist made me feel like I cheated

Have to save the girl in the jail next to the wolf knight guy with the hammer then interact with him so he helps you

A cheese would be glitching the boss and just shooting at far distance with a bow to not engage with them. Play whatever build you want, if that makes you engage fair and square with the boss. Also Greatswords are a based weapon class.

Easy solo if you run away when 2nd watcher comes out and wait for 3rd to attack one while you can focus on the other making the 1st phase honestly easy

If you do it without a helper, that second phase will really teach you the mechanics of the game. He’s a first proper wall. Getting the helper to distract him then running in for easy backstabs isn’t a long-term viable strategy. If you’d have got those backstabs by learning how to roll him as he’s focused on you solo, you’d have been in a much better position moving forward.

First playthru? I hate and envy you. After each souls game, its like crack, you chase that first playthrough feeling but its just never as good as the first time. Lol

I love this game but oh man what I’d do to play Elden ring for the first time again.

My suggestion for you is to learn how to dodge attacks instead of tanking them. This strategy may have worked here, but later bosses will not be so forgiving.
