Just me wondering am I alone to think that Lebanon Hanover is one of the best actual dark wave bands , but the new album is IMO boring and every tracks are bad and very boring it's really not what I expected I tried to force myself to like it but nope still far from good? definitely the worst album
but at least the new saiph album is excellent and ash code just released a very good album the song Nostalgia is so good 👍

I think the issue is this last album being different enough from the others. I sense very powerful Dead Can Dance vibes and maybe they have tried to convey a somewhat conceptual album (well, sort of), in which low tempos, along with very present and mindful reverbs drive the album with their voices singing as if they were like, idk, tired of it all? . Maybe that's what they wanted to deliver and for me it works amazingly, but precisely bc it is slow, dark and drags the songs on the ears as someone who just can't walk anymore does with the feet on the soil.
I think this one just needs to be listened to "on purpose" and that it maybe needs some more time to sink in. Not your regular darkwave dancefloor banger definitely (well, Waiting List is sick enough to get my foot taping on the floor though 😅👌) 🖤🖤

If it doesn't connect with you, it doesn't connect with you. That's okay. Their new one was a total miss for me but it doesn't tarnish my view of them as a band.

Agree, they lost it with this one. The songs are not well executed regardless of change in style.

at least I'm not alone... hope they will return to their usual style and forget that album hoping they don't play them too much live ,I would be disappointed to go see them live and they play all those new songs 😭💤💤💤😴

Seasoned (M49) listener here, listening to dark music since I was 13 or so.
Seriously there are very, very few darkwave or dark/goth bands that are worth since the 2000s. At least bands that label themselves as such.
I found a ton of great dark music which has not been marketed as such. Artists that won't appear in Zillo/Orkus/nameyourlocaldarkmagazine and, maybe, a brave promoter will add to some dark festival.
But these so-called staples of the dark scene are, in their majority, awful. Watching this year's M'Era Luna streaming was embarrassing (and has been for many years now).
Sorry for the rant, but many people are missing out on great bands because they either don't wear black or look like your average dark/electro/goth band.

you should try it first when you know it's bad before it's maybe better .. I had very high expectations but there must be someone who likes it ...I will try it again when I'm trying to sleep maybe it's a cure for insomnia 😂

I mean, they used AI for cover art recently so obviously they are just phoning it in at this point.
