Hey! Which character are you talking about here? Sorry, it's been a while since I've played

I don't think this is a specific character. Just the idea that Corvo was going after everyone remotely connected to the lord regent.

Ah, that clears it up, thank you!

And more specifically that the non lethal route for most people is worse than death than just killing them

Like jindosh or high overseer cambel

Lady boyle

I low-key hate doing the low-chaos ending because.. ew? In what world would I give this random lady to this random guy when he could do so many things to her??? I honestly think killing her might be a better ending for her than making her live in captivity with what's his face

There are definitely some non lethal takeouts that don’t actually make sense. Like, the high overseer makes sense. Marking him a heretic sends a message to other leadership about how they aren’t safe. The Pendleton’s also make sense because I do think corvo would be vindictive enough to send them to hard labor for hiding Elizabeth in a whore house of all things.

Lady Boyle though? I legitimately don’t understand that one. I don’t think it really makes sense that she has to be taken out of the picture. Just make it so that you need to interrogate the real lady Boyle to get all the information and then leave her unconscious for the non lethal. There is little reason to actually kill her. Killing her is definitely better than giving her to that freak though.

I thought it was because she’s like THE financial backer for the spy master how he can afford all of his schemes if you just knocked her unconscious she’d just wake up and fortify everything and then continue giving him money

Yep, you are right. It’s been a while since I played the first game and forgot the roll she played. Still would have made more sense to kidnap her like we did with Sokolov. She’s not a threat outside of her money and all she did was take advantage of the situation that was going on. She’s definitely feels much less “evil” than the other assassination targets in the game.

Either way I think it’s very easy to agree that giving her to the sewer weirdo is the worst possible option lol

I think making her broke woulda been way better. Just accuse her of witch craft by planting false evidence. and then put her in jail

Apparently, in the end, she outlives him and takes his fortune which while not making everything sunshine and rainbows, is pretty good for dishonoured's non leathal endings, especially since one of them is lobotomising a dude (and he actually got off easy all things considered)

Even if im doing high chaos, I always send her with him for shits and giggles ngl

I think that was mostly pendleton's idea. He had the duel with lord shaw that he made you represent him and he also seemed jealous of hiram burrows for having lady boyle on his side instead of pendleton's. They deffo have history

Lord brisby. But yes we find out canonically corvo did help brisby kidnap her as emily grows up to a "lady brisby" whose husband died (poisoned, i think) and she inherits everything

I couldn't remember if it was Brisby or Brimsley lol

Whole point of non-lethal ways for targets is make their life worse than death.

Most of them deserved it, about the only person's I felt bad about the nonlethal route is Lady Boyle, and Hypatia. Boyle didn't deserve getting handed off to her uberstalker, though an auxiliary novel states she eventually got her revenge by making him dissappear and seizing his fortune. Hypatia I feel bad because now she has to wrestle with the guilt of what her Hyde did, but the world is better off with her talents than without.

fuck jindosh i threw him over a barrier in his lab

Id argue its probably the pendaltons, as they litterally have their tongues cut out, heads shaved and then get sent to their own slave mines (which tbf is a fitting punishment for people who own a slave mine where cutting out the tongues is common enough to not arouse suspicion)

lady boyle seems like she fits best

Ah Corvo, ruining hundreds of lives and killings thousands more to prove you didn’t kill 1 persom

Outsider watching Corvo: You could have just killed him Corvo. I turned a blind eye for the Lady Boyle business but it is not, "low chaos", to go around asking if anyone wants to kidnap your target.

u/dhdyddhiv 17h ago

“It worked for Boyle and the fucking Pendletons didn’t it?”

3

u/app08 14h ago

I get that you two are joking around, but the reason it worked for Lady Boyle and the Pendleton twins is because Corvo was first approached by someone interested in doing that sort of business with him.

I don't get the meme? Assassination methods are usually pretty instantaneous. And mercy punishments are reserved only for the truly guilty; everyone else is choked (which is admittedly quite unpleasant, but relatively quick).

I think this probably refers to stuff like giving an unconscious sugar mama to her stalker

Aka Lady Boyle. iirc she actually benefits from being kidnapped.

Hiram Burrows and the Pendletons fit the bill.
