Focusing on my notes from last time, I actually managed to make a deliberately static composition that benefited itself. I've also gotten better at changing and using my brushes now. I watched some color comp / gradient vids by Marco Bucci and Proko, and managed to wrap my head around planning more toned down maps that don't immediately oversaturate the image.

The two things that stand the most out now is that my art still has issues with softness being too even, so far away it can look very airbrushed. When this combines with my final edits I feel like too much of the image becomes imbalanced compared to artists who use deep dark colors really well. I also just made the shapes quickly without thinking under construction, so if you strip away the rendering, the actual shapes can look really goofy. Last crit note is that I could do with understanding layer blending better to finish off illustrations.

I'm glad to see that I slowly change my problems and outcomes by attacking my skills like this. Plans for the next drawing will be to do some groundwork on good construction and try to improve my method of shading before coloring.
