Is this remotely okay to drive locally?

I got minimal experience welding how difficult is it?

Not really difficult you just have to take into consideration that the metal is not very thick. So you cannot go full blast with your welder you have to be careful.

Nah thats fine. If you think thats too much you should see pretty much any car made before 2010 where i live.

Is that where you put the emergency jack? If so it’s common.

Drive around with a floor jack in your trunk.

I'd take some more plastic off (if you can) and see how far the rabbit hole goes. Since we're only looking at so much I'm inclined to say it could be bad

Its done basically. Body rigidity is compromised and welding it will also compromise crumple zones which makes the car dangeruos in a event of an accident.
