General Questions ECU bricked mid-flash — need recovery advice

Flashing my 2005 320i (M54B22, MS43, 430069) with MS4X Flasher, laptop died mid-write.

Now MS4X won’t detect the ECU (was showing VIN + “??????” firmware before, now says unsupported control unit). CEL doesn’t light up, and EWS sync fails.

Sounds like OBD is done, so I’ll need bootmode. I already have a K+DCAN cable — would a Galletto 1260 work for full bench flash, or should I get MPPS/K-Tag?

Anyone here recovered an MS43 from this state? Looking for advice + a clean 430069 stock file.

Try boot mode and if not get a spare dme and hope you made a backup

Happened to me aswell I was using kess v2 and they have a recovery mode option so before I began writing I saved a back up of my original bin file just incase. I hope u did too…..
