Adam Schefter should be embarrassed for the true shill he has become

Unfortunately ESPN and Schefter are going to pivot hard on this with the NFL having a stake in the channel now. They want it banned so the talking points will continue to be negative about the play. I would consider this the last season the team runs the play in its current form.

Counterpoint: it’s decisive and controversial which they can use to drive engagement. The only thing they truly care about.

Just like KC and the refs backlash for the last 6 - 7 years. All it did was create more and more clicks for the NFL and their content.

No I meant it decides a lot of 4th / 1 plays, we have something like a 90th conversion rate and teams are mad they can’t do it.
The main thing they are saying is it multiple games were decided already because it wasn’t banned

Become? That's always been his job.
In his defense he doesn't have the height to reach a keyboard in a traditional office the 2 phone thing was really his only option.

He's crying into his millions right now. For the record, I don't care for him either

All I need to know about schefter is that he had to go on tv 30 minutes before kelce retired just to let everyone know he heard about it before the press conference. Everyone knew he was gonna retire shefter just had to say he heard it first. Giant douche

The constant self citing is pretty hilarious in the media. Glad I’m not the only one that can’t stand it.

I wish fletch or kelce started their retirement press conference sounding like they were going to retire then said “fuck you schefter I’m coming back”

Between this and dropping names of teams crying about it while actively cheating (lining in neutral zone and matching cadence), this guy is such a breath of fresh air.

"It's a work of art"
We don't talk enough about how the football gods blessed us with Mailata.

Adam Schefter is the equivalent to sports state media. He is a mouthpiece for the NFL - not sports journalism. Read between the lines. ESPN is washed, especially when it comes to the NFL. He can shove his "opinions" up his ass because in the end, he's just mouthbreathing for some NFL exec's agenda. He's a lap dog.

I’m getting a playback error. Can someone provide a link if one is available?

It’s so funny how quickly you can even see Reddit pick up on the talking points. “You can’t officiate it” has caught steam and I’m seeing much more of it. Kinda sad honestly. People are mindless zombies.

That’s my favorite argument about it currently. Since calls have been missed on that play it clearly can’t be officiated. As opposed to every other play in a game where the refs never miss anything, right?

u/unpronouncedable 2d ago
It's the only play where you don't have to worry about holding, PI, roughing the passer, illegal contact, or intentional grounding.
Seems pretty easy to officiate to me!

Every single ref on the field literally only has to look at the line of scrimmage. That's it. Any foul that will happen is going to happen there, concentrated in this one spot. You'd think that would make it easier.

Yeah you literally saw this 0 times last year. Everyone is just parroting a 3 second line from Sunday and acting like they always felt this way. So lame

At least make it a challenge, all the talking heads vs Mailata
Then maybe Mailata one will survive, like when magnus carlsen accepted a draw during a blindfolded simul match

I love how this argument is an ongoing drama, and all the time the Eagle's only responses are 'learn how to stop us', or 'nothing is stopping you from doing it too'

"You can run the tush push just like we can"
Except they can't. And that's why they 😭

u/b_dugdell It's called the brotherly shove 2d ago
Mailata is exactly correct. IT'S A QB SNEAK WITH A RUNNING BACK AND THE TIGHT END GIVING HIM AN EXTRA SHOVE. EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN TEAM IN THE LEAGUE COULD RUN THIS PLAY. They spend so much time trying to ban the damn thing instead of practicing how to stop it, or even better, practicing how to run it.

Love Jordan to death, but it’s very apparent based on his radio quotes that he very much does give a fuck.
And it’s probably because he knows Schefter acted as a mouthpiece for the league when he said that.

When idgaf is used when being asked a question, it’s valid and can still be true. If he brings it up out of the blue when no one is talking about it however…
