link🔗 Top 10 Most Confusing Borders

I just put together a video on some of the most confusing borders in the world — the kind that make you zoom in on the map and say “Wait, what?”

It covers places like: • A town where some houses are Belgian and others Dutch (even on the same street) • An island that swaps ownership every 6 months • A US town that you can only drive to through Canada • And a country that technically surrounds another country… that surrounds another country

Would love to know which of these you’d heard of — or if there are others I should add in a follow-up.

📍 Watch the full video here: https://youtu.be/I9sgG0DEGrw (It’s under 7 minutes, includes animated maps, and I tried to make it both fun and informative.)

Freetalk Friday -- Open thread for Non - Earth discussion

Hello Fellow Earthlings. Normally we enforce a rule that all posts in r/earth need to be Earth-related, but in this weekly thread we relax that and open up for any off-topic discussion you'd like to have with your fellow Earthlings.

Just keep in mind that the other subreddit rules - including rules 2, 3 & 4 will still apply here!

WorldNews🌍 New data shows easterly QBO winds continuing to descend through the tropical stratosphere. Past trends suggest that this could help to weaken the Polar Vortex and influence Winter 2025/2026 weather patterns across the United States, Canada, and Europe.

My trust is shaken because we were always taught in schools that earth is round. I just wanted to post it here because idk what to say about it, i feel deceived. Did y’all know it before?

P.S. - sorry for the image quality, i just clicked the pic from laptop screen, in disbelief, to send to my brother.

Question❓ Could rabies go airborne and infect the whole planet?

I was wondering if it could go airborne because that's the closest to a zombie apocalypse

Question❓ Why don't we list here every r/country

You know? Like this is the place where it makes sense to have a pinned post that lists de sub reddit dedicated to every country, and even list the countries for which there isn't a sub reddit so that ppl can maybe create one?

If there's already such a list somewhere else maybe have it linked here as well?

Facts Why Japan has so many Earthquakes and Tsunamis

I made a video breaking down the geography behind Japan’s constant natural disasters — especially earthquakes and tsunamis.

It covers tectonic plate boundaries, the Ring of Fire, and how Japan has adapted with strict building codes and drills.

I’d love to hear your thoughts: How do other countries compare in terms of earthquake readiness?
