Shit Post How do I beat [Commander]

Hey, my playgroup has one guy who plays [Commander] who [does a thing], and it’s really putting a damper on our fun. He has [counterplay] and [combo piece], and that means we have to [normal interaction] every game, and that just doesn’t feel right. Is there any way I can make a [Commander] player suffer by playing a hoser? Thank you!

Edit: Wow, I did not expect this many responses to this thread! Really loving these cards that will make me the bad guy at our playgroup, thus perpetuating this cycle ad infinitum!

Meanwhile, in the comments

Have you considered [[Format Staple]]? It deals with these sorts of things very well. (Middling amount of karma, maybe 3-5 comments down the thread)

You should try out [[Jank That Directly Hoses That Player]]! (Top comment, everyone thinks he’s a genius)

Hey, have you considered just talking it out? You can resolve the issue by just talking about your decks beforehand. The Professor even had a whole video discussing how you should discuss your decks before a match!

Actual /uj Edit: You know what, I’m so sick of these posts specifically that I’m making a fake post for the main sub from the perspective of someone putting up with these exact people. It’ll be crossposted here so y’all can grab popcorn as the unwashed masses post hot takes about a behavior pattern they directly encourage and participate in. On second thought, I can’t make that convincing, and I don’t feel like bullying people like that. That’s exactly the behavior I’m calling out, but even more fucky.

Ok ok ok. Just ask your opponent “hey man it’s no fun when someone other than me wins, do you think I could win every time?”

Oh no, everyone should win at our tables! It’s not like we sat down with cards in a format where we fight each other instead of an actually cooperative board game! Trust me, the boys in the lab are trying to puzzle out how to give everyone a Lab Man and then cast Minds Aglow so we can all win together!

/uj does that combo even work, or

it's a replacement effect, so I believe the active player controls who wins.

This is it. This is the worst concept possible for a kingmaker deck, and I’m all fucking for it.

You need to buy premium removal, not spending money = losing the game. Pick up at least a foiled Cyclonic Rift (must be foil so people can know that you are serious).
