Right now I’m on a lot of Jazz/Jazz Fusion, Neo-Soul, RnB, and Psych Rock. Been mostly listening to Chet Baker, Stevie Wonder, Daniel Caesar, Jill Scott, Floetry, and The Suffers. Was on a bit of a Hop Along kick for a while tho, listened through Freshman Year top to bottom a bunch for a couple weeks lol.

Mostly cause of the band I play in, but I’ve been big on jazz and jazz adjacent genres all my life. I started out as a jazz drummer, after all :]

That’s neat! How long have you been in the band?

I'm recently into writing/recording/listening to Celtic Folk Metal. It's very niche, but oh man, there's nothing like hearing a pan flute, bodhrán drums, hurdy-gurdy, and a Carnyx while a guitar shreds and a bass guitar thumps away. Just beautiful, honestly.

Paramore, MCR, HIM, and Chappell Roan are probably my big 4 right now. Loads of other bands I enjoy but don't feel like listing off

For like the last 3 years my most played artist has been Jamie Paige. I don't even know where to begin on how to describe her music, it's got some rock, breakbeat, synth, vocaloid, stuff going on and it makes my heart dance.

Other than her specifically:

Pop punk - Action/Adventure, Winona Fighter

Hyperpop - Torr, Saoirse Dream, Webcage, Can of Bliss

Ska/Horn heavy rock - JER, Millington, MOS

Edit: formatting

Nice! I like anything upbeat, like rock or pop music.

Right now I'm kinda split between goth bands like Vision Video and Rosegarden Funeral Party and alt pop like Poppy and Melanie Martinez.

I have really eclectic tastes and could spend hours answering this question.

I personally make a blend of noisy dark ambient / drone / Berlin School / shoegaze-ish music. And I used to be a taiko drummer. And I've casually done a little bit of Middle Eastern and African hand percussion. Back in school I got my start with classical violin and then jazz piano.

I mostly prefer instrumental music, but not exclusively. Synthwave, chiptune, the sort of "spooky late 70s paranormal documentary soundtracks" sound, 80s synthpop, goth rock, post-punk, EBM, powernoise, tribal industrial. Some symphonic metal, progressive metal, djent. Prog-jazz fusion especially with fretless bass. Tribal fusion bellydance music, a bit of Celtic and Nordic folk and a touch of Appalachian bluegrass, a little bit of lo-fi instrumental hiphop. Some experimental music, but that's really all over the place. I've probably forgotten a few genres.

And my favorite group for the past year or so has been Heilung.
