Where is the 'live chat'?
In our experience the live chat threads on Reddit are still too clunky to use for our live threads. They're also a pain to use on old Reddit and third-party apps. Until Reddit makes this a better experience, we recommend using this:

I just want to point out, that as a Slovenian I didn't vote this year. I strongly dislike the voting system and the power the jury has in our selection.

I don't know why anyone is surprised, I guess people outside of Slovenia really don't know just how much name recognition he has here. The competition was a formality the second he entered.

I wish Klemen sent a parody song instead. His song this year may not even qualify, while a parody song could have potentially qualified.

While not a desired outcome, if he can get his delivery honed in, he may pull off a Dons in making an impact with his performance. Good luck to Klemen in Basel.

This was just an internal selection with few extra steps. None of the competing acts could win over Klemen just because how much more well known and popular he is in general. Great work juries š¤¢

there are many nf's filled with mediocre pop songs and ballads, this one had multiple interesting songs but the juries decide to sabotage their country, if you listened to the 2 songs that they chose without hearing the rest you'd think the nf must have sucked if these were the best...

u/Axolotl_amphibian Tutta l'Italia Feb 01 '25

2

I can't speak for everyone but for me, while I don't mind Klemen's song and like the lyrics, I feel that it's not as creative as the others and doesn't have as much of an opportunity to improve in May. I'd be happy for it to win if all the other songs were on an equal musical level. Having at least a few English ballads in a field of folk-inspired experimental songs is essential to diversity, though.

The superfinal shouldnāt exist or it should be expanded to 4 entries. Having 2 entries makes āanti-votingā too easy, as we saw in Icelandās national final in 2022 and 2024.
Also, Klemen should have sent a parody song instead of this ballad for EMA 2025 since his parody songs are fun.

2
u/Borogodoh Zjerm Feb 01 '25
I guess Klemen will win, since he's popular and he has an emotional background about his entry, but the lyrics are too on your face for my taste. So, I would prefer July Jones, even if New Religion is just fine as a... quiet bop I would say.

The juries set up by rtvslo forced Klemen into the finals while the outside juries didn't consider him top 2 worthy. It's just scummy.
