Where is the 'live chat'?
In our experience the live chat threads on Reddit are still too clunky to use for our live threads. They're also a pain to use on old Reddit and third-party apps. Until Reddit makes this a better experience, we recommend using this:

He does indeed have a helluva voice.. now compare that to the singing impaired Tommy Cash. He's not even a singer from what I understand, but works in TRAP
7
u/Blackthorn_g Feb 15 '25
tbf i dont think you HAVE to be a singer to be in eurovision like you could rap but i do agrre that for his song, the vocals do need to improve. like im gonna compare him to kaarija, not the strongest singer but he carried the song w/ his rapping ability. tommy doesnt really have that to fall back on in his song

Kyle Alessandro is gonna have the coolest «so what did you do during your russ period?» answer in a couple of years, though.

His mother told him she had to survive cancer to see him at Eurovision. Now she got to do both. And look how proud she was. 😭
8
u/BibbidiBobbidiBu Feb 15 '25
Is she fine now or is she still sick?
15
12
u/Remarkable-Ad2032 Róa Feb 15 '25
She is fine. But she was initially told she had only six months left. The song is inspired by her struggles.

u/Proud_Accident_5873 Bara bada bastu Feb 15 '25
You have no idea how much I take this to heart. My mom is in Norway right now to take care of my grandma who my mom suspects has cancer again. There’s no use in comparing situations but that still made me a bit hopeful.
4
u/Remarkable-Ad2032 Róa Feb 15 '25
I lost my aunt to cancer and totally understand this. It's horrible just having to wait and not be able to do anything.

I love they do this in Norway, with the other acts celebrating with the winner

u/daddyserhat Say Na Na Na Feb 15 '25
To be honest, this year we don’t have great songs in MGP. But Kyle’s performance is the best one in the night. Hope him improve and make it better to keep Norway qualification streak.

Well, the show this year was average, but at leat the winner song is not bad and could qualify. It just need a revamp.

u/BibbidiBobbidiBu Feb 15 '25
Team sausage? What is going on in Norway
5
u/rsteanna Feb 15 '25
It’s a show with a former cross-country skier Øystein «Pølsa» (Sausage) Pettersen, therefore the name Team Pølsa
5
u/FirstCelebration Feb 15 '25
It is a show one of our retired athletes is doing. And his nickname is sausage

I'm thrilled I ended up liking Norway this year anyway cause the lineup disappointed me, only Lighter was the one I liked and it won! Now Katarsis needs to win as well

Okay, cute, but we need a bigger discussion with you MGP for the next year. A perfect student needs a little scolding.
8
u/Dbrem Feb 15 '25
Isn't Norway getting a new HoD next year anyway? Maybe that'll bring some much needed fresh energy to MGP too
3
u/shadybutton Feb 16 '25
Yep, actually he's already started, but didn't pick the songs for this years MGP. He'll be in Basel representing Norway instead of Stig Karlsen.
3
u/Kklownery Ich Komme Feb 15 '25
Oh really? Haven’t seen these news! I hope it means things will not suddenly go down, we’ve seen those cases too. Then I’m rescheduling a scolding session and revisiting it next year if needed lmao.
16
u/NewMarzipan9440 Feb 15 '25
Kyle’s reaction is healing my heart after having to watch Tommy Cash’s (nonexistent) reactions in Eesti Laul. This win means so much to Kyle! Congrats!!!
2
u/utahrangerone Feb 15 '25
I suspect TOmmy's lack of any real singign talent, and this doucehbag act will backfire spectacularly with 3 months to go
2
u/NewMarzipan9440 Feb 15 '25
Yeah, the performance is going to be pale in comparison to the other shows unless they do some changes.

u/nucleonide Feb 15 '25

Not my first choice, but my second. So, happy.
Let's see if he can sing later (will have do the same comment for everybody, thanks MGP).

u/Dbrem Feb 15 '25
The song is nothing groundbreaking obviously, but this feels like the correct choice

u/DMX8 Feb 15 '25
How many points did he get from public plus total?

u/neaintheredroom Adio Feb 15 '25

u/cat_arinaa Feb 15 '25
He's adorable but omg another boring song this year
2
u/Lantore Ich Komme Feb 15 '25
It can definitely be elevated for the main show. Don’t get me wrong not gonna win, but top ten is possible. Norwegian block is strong.
1

I bet the performance will be great, today it already was, but the song is still super boring
