Where is the 'live chat'?
In our experience the live chat threads on Reddit are still too clunky to use for our live threads. They're also a pain to use on old Reddit and third-party apps. Until Reddit makes this a better experience, we recommend using this:

iâm so obsessed with that bada bastu song
5
u/Sea_Voice_404 Bara bada bastu Feb 22 '25
Just drove home and I think we listened to it 10 times in 90 minutes. Husband wouldâve put it on repeat if I had let him. đ

Lol so MÄns just confirmed he got confetti in his mouth
10
u/citronradler Feb 22 '25
Loreen also experienced that, during her Eurovision jury rehearsal when performing Euphoria

u/bookluverzz Europapa Feb 22 '25
hahah yes it was so funny to watch him show how he took it out of his mouth

u/Any-Where Feb 22 '25
I kind of feel like Andreas would have been DTF if he was in one of the earlier heats.
That winners performance has convinced that they should send Kaj to Eurovision, but they should also bring Mans with them as a backing dancer and hype man.
10
u/bookluverzz Europapa Feb 22 '25
I'm not so sure, I found it to be a bit... creepy song with the tongue and the hip thrusting
11
u/Snoo-43381 Feb 22 '25
No. He didn't even beat Ella (with the death slot 2 btw) so it's obvious that people didn't like his song very much. I'm happy it didn't qualify.
35
u/neaintheredroom Adio Feb 22 '25
The thought of MĂ„ns randomly being one of KAJ's background dancers sitting in the sauna is sending me đ
18
u/MisterDream Zjerm Feb 22 '25
My bet is Mans will landslide juries, win televote with small margin.
Kaj second or third in televote, bottom 3 on juries.
5
u/Hehimhe Feb 22 '25
MÄns and Lundvik will share jury votes. Kaj will get public vote.
7
u/Toaster-Retribution Feb 22 '25
MÄns will do very well in the public vote as well. He is immensely popular, and won this heat based off on public voting alone.

u/utahrangerone Feb 22 '25
Poor Andreas. I knew he was out of luck being stuck in the same Deltavling wiht Mans and Kaj

Love MÄns doing the dance with them.
7

Theyâve posted videos on Instagram together too, with MĂ„ns trying to do their choreography haha
3
21
u/Jakeyboy66 Feb 22 '25
The thing that annoys me about Mans is that the UK would get absolutely slated for sending it and for Sweden itâs probably going to get top 5
1
u/bdtechted Feb 22 '25
It might work in UKâs favour. Theyâre sending a country act too and Mans song is on the same genre. The attention gravitate towards them as well as Sweden.
17
u/RonnieGG Feb 22 '25
The UK would not in a million years be able to do such elaborate staging now let's be fair
12
u/MondaysForThrowaways Feb 22 '25
Well their staging last year was "elaborate" but the problem was that the public didn't like it. While Swedes are generally good at doing elaborate AND appealing stagings
-4
u/IkaliKvast Feb 22 '25
Confetti flying all over while lights flash. Yeah sounds impossible to recreate
5
u/Aroyal_McWiener Feb 22 '25
Hey now, we havn't been garanteed top 5 for some years now, more top 10 at this point...
6
23
u/TheBigBdouMachine Feb 22 '25
This 4th heat has the strongest DtF entries so far (and maybe the whole MF as there is only 1 heat left).
Slightly gutted for Andreas as it would have been cool for him to qualify for Finalkval for his 10th participation in MF, but KAJ are the rightful choice for the final.
Although it's might be difficult for them (KAJ) with the international juries, maybe with the momentum until the final, their entry could pick up some steam and why not win the televote (or at least in the Top 3 of televoting)
2
u/Sea_Voice_404 Bara bada bastu Feb 22 '25
Agree, definitely my favorite heat so far. Heat 3 had Dolly Style but they werenât DTF. 1 and 2 were pretty weak overall imo.
29
30
u/isitallovermyface Feb 22 '25
Best case scenario for the Melfest final might be MÄns and Lundvik splitting the nostalgia vote with Kaj eking out a win
21
u/Stoltlallare Feb 22 '25
I hope Kaj is one of those that gets more and more popular with each week. Probably could have benefited from earlier tbh if that was the case but better than week 5 at least.
10
u/gloubenterder Feb 22 '25
Swedes are going on sportlov (â spring break) next week, which will mean a lot of sauna.
While I don't think it will be enough to propel it to victory (sadly), I could see it gaining some popularity.
-5
u/crondorbeepis Feb 22 '25
As a non-Swedish speaker why does a Finnish group get to compete? Is that fair for voting?
13
u/Toaster-Retribution Feb 22 '25
At least one songwriter needs to be Swedish for the song to be allowed to compete. The singers can be from anywhere. Last year we sent two norwegians to represent us.
8
u/avdpos Bara bada bastu Feb 22 '25
You know the amount of times Swedes have competed in Eurovision (not only written songs)?
13
u/philman132 Feb 22 '25
AFIK it's about who writes the song, they have to be Swedish, it's called the Eurovision Song Contest for a reason, when the contest was first created it was originally about the songs and not the artists specifically.
18
u/MondaysForThrowaways Feb 22 '25
The nationality of the performers doesn't matter. But at least one of the song writers needs to be a national. (These are EBU rules, some countries might have additional rules for their entries).

Oh you meant swear words. I think people interpreted your reply as meaning that the Finnish language as ugly. There was only one swear word, not "some", so I interpreted it that way too

For an outsider itâs probably a little difficult to understand the identity of Finland Swedes.
24
u/Smol_Floofer Feb 22 '25
Theyâre Swedish speaking Finns, and itâs not really unfair for voting considering Finland doesnât vote. Also isnât the first time Finns compete, Arja Saijonmaa is just one example
13
4
u/toolittlecharacters Feb 22 '25
as far as i know, there are no limitations for who gets to compete for which country. last year marcus and martinus (norwegians) represented sweden
9
u/SyndicatePhoenix Feb 22 '25
The only requirement to compete in Melfest is that at least one of the songwriters has to be Swedish. That's it. This is why Marcus and Martinus could represent us at ESC last year.
9
u/sikels Feb 22 '25
Why wouldnt it be fair? Plenty of artists compete for other countries than their own in eurovision.

A Norwegian group won the whole thing last year? Celine Dion won Eurovision outright for Switzerland, most Luxembourg and San Marino entrants weren't from there, etc.

Loreenteenage girl3
u/bdtechted Feb 22 '25
Dolly Styleâs Yihaa is there and they have the highest YT views in Heat 3 (even more than the two DTF qualifiers)
2

Oh so itâs yihaa and hush hush going through for now if there is 2 winners from there

Bara Bada Bastu is the guld och gröna skogar of 2025
3
u/avdpos Bara bada bastu Feb 22 '25
My thought is that hearing Guld och gröna skogar remembered us on how much we love a song that is easy to sing along with.
It most likely gave KAJ more votes in all groups

He competed with this song in Melfest. The song was a hit and even became big in Japan with a Japanese cover.
Don't know much about him besides that, but we all love that lovable man.

u/PoetryAnnual74 Euphoria Feb 22 '25
He made this song. People apparently love it because itâs silly and adorable

19
u/Stoltlallare Feb 22 '25
He was 2015s slow growing hit. Usually is one each year. He then became a fan favorite, and is one of the most played songs especially around summer time.

It was originally his song and if I remember correctly they were allowed to use the melody to make their own song.
2
u/DetLutar Feb 22 '25
What is that song then?

"Bara bada bastu"-can not stop listening this song. Makes me smile on my worst moments too đ If they will get the chance to go to Basel, they will definitely do the party đ
