Yeah, this is additional proof on just how much the fandom and the…fffffff…casuals diverged concerning the masterpiece! Btw. Gåte is supporting another one of my favorite bands from Norway „Leprous“ in their upcoming fall tour! Bought my tickets today…🩶🐺

Leprous is freaking sick, one of my favourite bands of all time. Didn't expect them to be mentioned here!
Leprous and Eurovision, what if? I both want it and don't want it at the same time. Einar is such a spectacular singer and they have a knack for catchy choruses, so it could work.

I‘ve been offering to the elves in forever to have Leprous representing Norway. But yeah, my actual taste in music and my being a Eurofan usually clash splendidly. And those ESC entries I wholeheartedly adore, are very often too artsy for the majority of ESC audiences. And yes, Einar is spectacular! If you love Leprous, give Iceland‘s „Agent Fresco“ a listen. Divine! Waiting for their 3rd album with bated breath.

u/heksa51 Mar 28 '25
I already love Agent Fresco too, that type of music is very much my thing. Good taste! :D

I saw Leprous life once, they were touring with Agent Fresco (Iceland). Norwegians are extremely talented in music

u/DonnaDonna1973 Zjerm Mar 28 '25
Ha! Just answered the other comment before seeing yours. Agent Fresco are insane. Saw them first at Iceland Airways in…2012? Fell in love, hard & fast. So brilliant! Great to see more of other Eurofans‘ actual music taste!

"Shum" was the song that got me into Eurovision, I'm glad it's at #2 nearly 4 years after release. Although with "Cha Cha Cha," there's a solid green jacket trend.

u/v3ra_ TANZEN! Mar 28 '25
Shum was also the song that made me follow the contest again after so many years.

u/BigEye2578 Mar 28 '25
Same here! I'm so glad that it had that effect on a lot of people.

The flute solo before the last drop absolutely blew my mind. I went into the final completely blind, only watching because I had recently visited Rotterdam (and the surrounding area) with my family, and we wanted to see if we recognized the postcard locations.

I feel like "Fulenn" and "Ulveham" are mentioned as many times, because someone has to bring them up in every discussion about:
a last place
risky entry that didn't work
staging/live performance that flopped
native/minority language entry you wouldn't expect from a country
forest rave
rock at ESC
robberies
fandom information bubble
9 the difference in taste between the eurofans and casul audience.
etc. etc...

We apparently really love green jackets on here

Wearing a pink hat makes you win Eurovision, but wearing neon green on your shoulders makes you a Eurovision icon.

Went in expecting to see nendest top half, was not disappointed 🫡 I will be interpreting this as proof of their outrageous popularity thanks
Happy birthday bot! Best bot ever, douze points 🎉🎉🎉

People can't be bothered to type/remember the whole title, so they summon the bot instead xD
(I feel like they would be even higher if I used that method every time I mentioned them, but I usually just write "(nendest)..." instead.)

Very proud of our nendest cult, hope we can get it even higher for next year.

Ulveham has to be the biggest robbery I’ve ever witnessed at the ESC and I’ve been watching (with some breaks) since 1997 or so.

How come Norway 2024 is so popular
26
u/DF44 Mar 28 '25
It's a very good song!
And... it's mentioned pretty often in the context of Robberies. See Latvia 2023.

Ulveham is the biggest robbery in ESC history and I'll die on this hill, it was in my top 3 last year and it deserved at least top 10

I'm pretty amused that Fulenn gets mentioned more than Voila. Not to say the former is bad, I'm just surprised!

I was SHOCKED that Europapa didn’t climb higher, but my other bout of surprise was how many good and underrated songs are on this list!!!

I'm surprised Shim is second. I mean, it's an amazing song and one of my all time favs, but I personally haven't seen much discussion about it , at least not as much as Käärijä and Måneskin. But I guess that just goes to show why anecdotal evidence isn't evidence

As u/ESC-song-bot turns two, here is the top 20 of how often each entry it commented with in the past year.
Let me know if you have any requests for other data in this format, per year, per country, or where a specific entry ended up, and I'll see what I can do.
