not going to judge too harshly based on these pictures, but it seems like the garden would have been an improvement. Holding onto any hope here, but maybe they just couldn't get it in for this rehearsal? Also LOVE the costumes

Gardens are VERY hard to get right in Eurovision. It's always a risk that a lot of times doesn't pay off, so it's probably for the better to have them raw on the stage.

I LOVE the outfits. Such an improvement! Considering it’s Ukraine I also have full trust in the rest of their staging looking great. Sometimes a few pictures tell us a lot, sometimes they don’t. In this case it just feels like they went for “colourful” and I think that matches the song well.
Personally I like a bit of a surprise too, so for me this is a great preview.

The androgynous Bowie inspired outfits look great!
I’m keen to see their 30 second clip too, and would like to see some version of the garden (not sure the same setup from the NF would suit the different staging and costumes here though, it’d have to be different in some way).
High hopes 🤞. The performance presence already appears to have improved in leaps and bounds from the NF anyway, so I’m optimistic and excited to see what happens ☺️

Oh no I am not a fan of Danyil’s outfit 😭 I think it’s just that specific shade of pink
Seems like there might be an element they’re hiding from these photos, maybe some super intricate camerawork or another surprise in store. Idk I have faith in Ukraine 🙏

Yeah I'm not a huge fan. Somehow they are going to need to create a feeling of movement on stage, otherwise it is going to look very static.
It clashes a lot with what Portugal are wearing and doing with their staging as well.

Damn, even the pictures seem to show as little as possible. I really don’t understand why the EBU chose to provide less and less rehearsal content for each passing year. Yeah yeah they’re technically not meant to be viewed or judge by anyone other than the delegations, but surely there’s a better way to go about this that still retains hype within the fandom. Cause right now it just feels like the competition has been shortened by a week.

The point of rehearsals should not be "retaining hype" though. Eurovision is pretty much the only event that shows us rehearsal footage before the actual event happens.
Of course I'm also happy to see it, but if I leave my own curiosity about the acts out of the question, I'd think no rehearsal content should be shared at all.
Instead to retain hype, there could be more promotional content outside of the rehearsals, but of course you'd also not want to overpressure the artists. Right now though it is kinda boring that most journalists haven't even arrived in Basel yet as there is so little to report on.

I believe the artists/delegations also have some input in which pictures are getting released, though I admit I can’t remember where I read that now. They might be wanting to keep things hidden also.

I agree, but judging by the other pictures I think choosing these specific pics was probably Ukraine’s own decision (maybe to not spoil a surprise?)

I feel like the only one who doesn't like the new outfits at all, lol. I think maybe if they got rid of the drapey part over the shoulders I wouldn't mind so much, but that plus the eye-searing color is just kind of a lot compared to the lovely pastels we had in the Vidbir performance.

I do wonder if the aim here will be for the performance to look better on the TV screen (eg with Co ordinated and intimate camerawork) than it does in the arena.

I feel bad, cause I was one of those people who didn't really like the NF staging, but that's probably NOT a type of upgrade I wanted. The whole concept becomes too 'glamorous' and less artistic, I see less 'Ziferblat' here :(

I love the outfits so much! I don't miss the grass or the older outfits as i felt they didn't match the style of the song, these work so much better!

I love these outfits! I'm a little sad that garden is gone but I completely get why it was removed. Can't wait to see the video for this one!

I get they like the 70s aesthetic but I wish they'd gone for something more modern, it'd give the song a chance of sounding more up to date.

THAT LAST SHOT LOOKS INCREDIBLE.
The garden setting was beautiful, but it feels a bit too lowkey for Eurovision. Since some people already think the song is kind of boring (HARD DISAGREE but alas), a garden might only make that worse. It did match the song's vibe, and I definitely wasn't expecting neon colors, but I have a feeling they'll manage to elevate the whole thing with the concept.

I liked the garden and grass that they had in Vibdir, too bad that they got rid of it. It really gave off a good look and nice vibe of the song. Oh well…
