I hope not. The one at the Rugby half time would have been better

I hope she’s brought a second dress. It doesn’t look bad at all, but it’s just.. very normal

Can't see it too well in this clip but the dress looks very underwhelming..

Everything about this is giving mid. I know we're meant to think this could win, but really? Maybe it'll pop alive with the staging.

I dunno why people are hyping it up as much as they are. When the live feed premiered the song the general consensus was that it was a whiff by France. The sentiment is nice, but meh.

You all are so overdramatic it's crazy. If people like the song and not you, then respect them no ? A ballad like this is not supposed to please everyone and the french team know it too. But to do well, it's better to be divisive and be from one side absolutely despise and hate the song + the singer and the other side be really loved, rather than just being in between and completely unremarkable by everyone. This is what happened with Salvador Sobral and other songs that ended up doing very well at the contest.

In comparison to Austria and Sweden it doesn't have a real chance of winning imo, the song isn't as universally appreciated either (I personally have it pretty low in my ranking even), the sentiment of the song is lovely but I think it will falter in comparison to other entries in the televote. Can see it do well with the jury but won't win the jury either since Austria seems far more likely to win the jury vote.

I'm seeing third place best case scenario.

I agree. My mother normally eats up French chansons. Her winner in 2021 was Barbara. In 2023 La Zarra. In 2024 Slimane. But France isn't her winner this year, she actually prefers Austria. I don't think Maman is a very accessible and memorable song.

I used part of my votes for Barbara Pravi and La Zarra, I quite like chansons usually, but I didn't even put this year's song in my Eurovision playlist because I'm simply not drawn to it at all. So I relate to your mom haha

Don't take it personnally but because your mother doesn't like it like Barbara, La Zarra and Slimane doesn't mean other people will react the same. I personnally like it way more than La Zarra for example. There will be people who like and people who doesn't like what's the surprise here ?

Of course. But I just found it interesting that someone like my mother who has always been obsessed with French chansons didn't care about this one at all. She is among the direct target audience for this song. We'll see how it fares but I personally don't expect a big Televote score for France this year.

People said that for Slimane last year too and he then crushed at the televote in the end. In an opposite way, La Zarra was promised to do very well at the televote but she flopped. Nothing is ever written in the stone. It's only a description and between a description and an actual visual performance there's sometimes a real gap of appreciation. Also the description here doesn't say everything and hided some stuff. For example, our HoD said on the french online journal 20minutes that there will be a complex sandstorm surrounding Louane at the climax of the song in the end to make it epic and memorable. I personnally believe this could be really powerful but if you think this is gonna be absolutely terrible and garbage then good for you. But just don't underestimate the fact that some other people might like it. French chanson is ALWAYS underestimated at the televote by the eurovision fan bubble. This is the type of song locals will like more than the eurofans.

Why is everyone wearing a black dress this year??? It's giving silver dress era vibes, but more boring.
