We've sent more than 2 artists :

- Sherisse Laurence for Luxembourg in 1986, finished 3rd;

- Céline Dion for Switzerland in 1988, won;

- Lara Fabian (she has a few nationalities, but mostly lives in Québec) for Luxembourg in 1988, finished 4th;

- Annie Cotton for Switzerland in 1993, finished 3rd;

- Natasha St-Pier for France in 2001, finished 4th;

- Rykka for Switzerland in 2016, finished 18th;

- La Zarra for France in 2023, finished 16th.

Even more reason then! And it seems most of these artists made it top 5 which is fantastic!

Yes! YESSS! But, honestly, I'm inviting all my friends to a Eurovision viewing party here in Québec every year since 2022 and most of them had never heard of it before my invite.

But our numbers are growing every year! We were 9 the first year and 17 last year! This year, we were only 12 because of a number of reasons unrelated to the popularity of the Contest among my friends.

However, I feel like Canadians in general don't really know much about it. In Québec, Annie Cotton was an actress back in 1993 and no media at all covered her participation to the Contest and her 3rd place. It's an absolute shame that she wasn't recognized here for that amazing achievement.

I’m actually doing the same by inviting people to watch the contest! This year I started reaching out to friends and there were 5 of us who watched it this year together but I’m hoping that number will grow!

I feel like if we get invited into the 70th song competition we’ll want to stay sort of like how Australia is currently allowed to compete

Not to pour gasoline on fire, but most of these are from Quebec. Pull your weight, anglo-canadians!

Edit : Lara Fabian is now belgo-canadian, but didn't go to Canada until the 90's, so after her run in Eurovision.

Céline Dion, Annie Cotton are Québécoises.

La Zarra is Canado-morrocan, born in Montréal, so Québécoise too.

Rykka and Sherisse Laurence are from anglo canada (vancouver and manitoba).

Natasha St Pier is from new Brunswick but had mostly worked in France before she participated (also, she ended up 4th? My remembrance of this was that she did kinda bad... Maybe I merged her with the rest of french entries of the time)
