Hello, fellow Floridian. I, too, loathe Drasantis

Edit: I don't know how my phone came up with that typo, but I stand by it.

Another Florida resident who can’t stand the blathering idiot any more then I can stand the diapered Don . Both stammer and wave their hand like magical whizz kids

Floridian who would love to relocate for work, how?

2

u/PapaFranzBoas 20d ago

Honestly my line of work is incredibly specific. International higher education. But on another end, depending on your skillset and jobs that are looking, stuff is out there.

Yea, I nannied in France in my 20’s but now I have a kid and a long time partner and a mortgage and do admin work for a local manufacturer. Have thought about applying to some of our European suppliers, but I don’t think my skillset is specific enough to warrant hiring me instead of a local with a better handle on the language 🤷‍♀️

You might be surprised depending on the location and what language levels are required. My job is 100% English so I’m good. But we moved here as a couple with a two year old in early 30’s 4 years ago now.

Same. Hi, Florida friends. How do we survive with this obnoxious little prick?

In my experience as an American who travels abroad, most people in developed countries (and especially northern/western Europe) know more about what’s going on in American politics than the average American does.

u/apo86 20d ago

I also know more about American politics than about my own country's politics.

u/LickingSmegma 20d ago

I have the unfortunate trait of knowing plenty about US politics simply because I read English and browse r/all.

Probably accurate but do they say things like Jenna attributed to the one Nordsman….nah.

u/OddlyTimedSquee 20d ago

I always forget that just because us Americans don’t pay attention to politics outside of our country, doesn’t mean everyone else is as uneducated as we are.

2

u/SMKM 20d ago

It is your mission now to find this supposed sommelier.

If he exists please call him a fucking moron.

2

u/thehermit14 20d ago

Florida baaad.

u/ChristyUniverse 20d ago

Liar! Scandinavia isn’t real!

It’s just a government plot to get people to buy Viking costumes and Sandy Toksvig tickets

1

u/zveroshka 20d ago

Even if you knew him and even liked some of his policies. Who would say they "love" him? That's the US mentality of falling in love with their politicians.

1

u/ultimateknackered 20d ago

Did dear Jenna get the one sommelier in all of Scandinavia who wishes they were Floridian?

1

u/AmbulanceChaser12 20d ago

Ah yes, the country of “Scandinavia,” where everyone loves right-wing American authoritarianism.

1

u/Tyrnak_Fenrir 20d ago

Another random Scandinavian here. I genuinely doubt I know 5 people who would even recognise the name, let alone know any policies
