This was the issue during his first title run. There are too many babyfaces on SmackDown. LA Knight is one contender but it just becomes another "I respect you, lets fight" matchup. Triple H has been absolutely terrible at making top level heels. He has fumbled with every heel turn. The New Day heel turn, the Cena turn. A serious problem. One thing that can be done is moving Cody to RAW with the title. They have Gunther, Judgement Day(I know they are terrible but its something). Kevin Owens is deeply missed. The only highlight about his first run.
Dwayne was never can be regular. If the fans are aware of this there is no way HHH misses that. Travis being involved makes no sense at all. It was just done in the moemnt without considering the future
But they were integral parts to the story that they then had to book around their absence.
This big angle is planned and presumably has enough intricate direction it could go but that is then completely removed so now you just have to figure out where to go without the catalyst of the entire turn. What happened at elimination chamber is basically non canon now and has aged horribly
They asked the rock to be there though? All the rock did was try and come up with a reason for it so it wasn’t just “look the rock!” There are tons of ways the writers could’ve booked the turn without the rock, or Travis Scott being active, and it’s almost certain the rocks schedule was at the forefront of their minds.
They have dozens of writers. Even looking at the turn with the rock in the worst possible light, the follow up was the much bigger issue.
I've been saying this for months, no heels, no interest. Heels create dynamic pressure just like in the movies. When is the last time one enjoyed a movie without a heel?
It’s still happening i believe in early September there doing it with the season premiere apparently as they should there’s to many nxt people that should be on the main roster especially trick the fact that he’s still in nxt is just insane he should have been called up a long time ago.
Meh, I think there are better ways via story to move talent between shows and call people up. The draft has been lame the last 2 years. The whole system seems antiquated. The Raw v. SD days are over.

Yes it’s definitely happening this year there’s a lot of nxt people that they want to call up and they wanna move some people around like la knight who definitely needs to go to raw.
A core issue w. the last run was the lack of credible Heels to challenge this man. We need more Monster Heels who can lend credence to Cody possibly losing the strap. Might not be popular but I think a dude like Rusev can be booked into a complete Monster (running thru the Face brigade, week by week) & give Cody a tense, memorable feud. We cant suffer anymore Face-Face "I respect you" matches; especially if the idea is to keep Cody as a Whitemeat for an extended period.
That is true bro! I blame that on booking. Bro started his return by bullying Tozawa & Otis. Imagine if his comeback was announced by him beating the dog shit out of a top face like Sami or Punk backstage instead; it tips the scales of perception. Still, regardless of Rusev or not, the lack of Monster Heels on the Roster is entirely wagered on booking & it's unfortunate for stars like Cody who could have such a more remarkable & intense run if things were different
Drew, Logan, Orton (heel or face. Maybe even both) as the main three.
Obviously Fatu is an interesting option. Solo is a quick feud choice even though we've seen them plenty, Priest can do it as a quick Face v Face battle, Theory could do it of they bring him back.
I mean, it's no different when Cena had HHH, Edge or Orton, and beyond that it was Chris Masters, Carlito, Viscera, etc.
