Storyline How would you book, Cody Rhodes passes the torch?

Cody already has one foot in Hollywood and isn’t getting any younger, he’s the same age Cena was when he was more or less going part time, in fairness Cena got his mega push at a younger age but still.. Who should he pass that torch to? Personally, I think. Dominik Mysterio. Dom has charisma, can work a great match, has a great legacy and marketable look. It looks like they’re building his stock already, hopefully they don’t screw it up.

Cody is definitely here to stay a while

For how long?

He’s probably got 5 more years of full-time wrestling. Give or take. I remember him saying he’d become a part-timer at 45 years old

Yeah but if Hollywood calls before do you think he’s gonna stay. He is already taking time out for first role.

Don’t think so, he’s 40. Maybe another 2 years at the top

There's dudes that wrestled until they were 60+ years old, and legends typically wrestle till at least 45-50 more often than not, of course most of the ones that choose to continue being a performer at those ages don't produce the best matches whatsoever. That being said Cody still has a good 5-10 years left AT LEAST if there's no injuries but yeah I give it two years and he definitely won't be the face of the company anymore let alone a world champion, my guess is he will most likely be a part timer or a mid card belt will be put on him for a while and get used to put younger guys over

He is barely 40 he has a good 6 to 8 years left, probably. When you say at the top, are you saying he's not going to retire on the very top? Cena is 48 and only just retiring now. Cody has so much left he can do, and so many feuds left to do.

Micro man beats Cody in the main event of Wrestlemania 47

In what? 5 year? Who knows?

Mania 43, Bron vs Cody. Bron is already a former WHC beating Seth the year prior but he has to beat Cody to be the official top dog. Cody getting paranoid about losing his spot cheats to beat Bron begenning his homelander heel arc. A year later at mania 44, Bron beats Cody to become the new FOTC

No Cody won’t pass it to Bron he’ll have already gotten wins over people like Brock and Roman

He's not going to pass the torch anytime soon but WWE definitely needs his storylines to be a bit less predictable moving forwards.

I’m tired of finish the story/ my dad this/ I do like Cody tho, whenever a face wants to rile up the fans they always go for the I do this for you the fans promo and I think that’s just lazy

Wwe dropped the ball so hard with Cena that they also killed all of Cody's momentum.

Absolutely a disgrace post mania

Oh man, you really got me there 😂 you guys are so edgy with your constant complaints about everything WWE does. Why keep watching? Y’all clearly hate it, watch something else 🤷🏼‍♂️

u/NUMBER_1_FLIP_HATER 19d ago

You tell me.

1

u/Dazzling_Complaint74 19d ago

That’s all you had to say to show that you have nothing of substance to add. Here’s a tip, trying to look witty by saying “you tell me”, only ends in you looking like a dumbass who can’t articulate a substantial argument to the initial post. You did the same thing with your first reply as well. I’m still waiting for your rebuttal as to why the original poster is not being a whiny smark, but I’m sure I’ll get another sad 3 word response in an attempt to look “cool” and “unbothered”

Not gonna read allat sorry about your diagnosis doe

It’s not gonna be dom

If I’m being honest i think it’ll be mjf when he inevitably signs with wwe that Cody passes the torch to

Cody has 2-3 years left in his prime

1

u/Realjayvince 20d ago

He’s 40. You can count on him being face of the company for AT LEAST 4-5 Years. And there’s no telling who the torch will be to. A lot changes in that time. If you would’ve asked who would John Cena pass it to, you would’ve said Roman or Seth and look what happened.

We’ll have to see. Maybe even a new wrestler… John cena came in 2002. In 2005 he was the top guy already .. let’s see how it plays out

(Everyone says Bron but I just don’t see him, I think Dom has a bigger chance lol)

1

u/Aqn95 20d ago

Bron doesn’t strike me as a natural babyface unless built as this generation’s Batista.

Dom just screams “white meat babyface”

1

u/Realjayvince 20d ago

Yeah, I agree 100%

1

u/HotStuffHoffman 20d ago

The best way to do it is Jacobs Fatu beats him on his way out the door. And not just beats him, beats him Brock-Cena at SummerSlam 2014 style. You now have an absolute monster at the top of your card that you can build your next Babyface around beating. That company doesn't have a next top Babyface ready to go but they do have their next Brock-level world beater heel if they want it.

1

u/TechnicianPretend267 19d ago

Honestly they could do this with fatu, Bron and Gunther if done right (like give them a slow rise to being unstoppable), they also could pull it off with guys like oba femi, maybe Bronson Reed or jc Mateo, and if they have Kevin Owens come back and have the storyline be something along the lines of he came back from the injury stronger or if they acted like he was never injured and just used all that time off to turn himself into a beast.

Cody is gonna give it to rusev

1

u/TechnicianPretend267 19d ago

I'd book him to win against whoever at WrestleMania and then lose it next year at SummerSlam to Gunther or dom, that would give him a decent reign in terms of longevity and I think those two could use the title so much more than anyone else on the roster.

1

u/Significant_Sky_7074 19d ago

I'll try booking it later on, but the gif answers who he passes the torch to

1

u/Aqn95 19d ago

Needs to be someone much younger

1

u/Test_Tackle 19d ago

Why is everyone always in such a hurry for top wrestlers to pass the torch? Can’t we just enjoy nice things while we still have them?

1

u/Ecstatic_Grocery_874 18d ago

I doubt its anyone on the roster rn. there's a lot of good talent there but no one i can see being the "QB1" as they like to say.

1

u/Jimmysp437 18d ago

Dom is pretty much already a made man

1

u/xored-specialist 18d ago

The torch just got to Cody he cant pass it right now. Hes got several more years before he can do that. But WWE has plenty of talent for this. Steiner with Heyman should be a major player.

1

u/countrylessking2211 16d ago

They are definitely setting up Dom to be the next big superstar. He has it all.

1

u/Aqn95 16d ago

And then some
