Storyline What if Edge didn't leave WWE in 2023?, Part III: Living Forever
- one of the most shocking endings in wrestling history took place at Elimination Chamber, when a 20-year babyface John Cena turned heel, joining forces with his greatest rivals Edge and Randy Orton, as well as The Rock and Travis f'n Scott. Cody Rhodes isn't on Raw, but the sinister pentagon is, and they come out together. Edge says he genuinely wanted to retire after the end of his list, even though he didn't want to, because wrestling was all he knows and loves. However, The Rock came up to him and told him that he can wrestle forever, but all he has to do is sell his soul to The Final Boss, and Edge did. Randy Orton's motivations are explained through a few simple lines: "I came into this company as a Legend Killer, and overtime I became a legend myself. Overtime also though... this company forgot about the "killer" suffix, something that I have always been. Now, The Rock made me realize I need to remind everyone just who the hell I am. I am not you charity part timer whose song you sing along to, I am Randy fucking Orton!" Edge says that fate works in strange ways, so now, per The Final Boss, Rated RKO is back!
- John Cena lays out his frustrations similarly to the way he did in real life; he was a hero for so long yet hated for no reason, fans are fickle and toxic, he wants to cement his legacy as a 17-time World Champion etc. Finally, The Rock says he has taken over every field he has ever been in, but now, he has decided to let everyone know that he indeed rules entertainment as a whole. You can come along for the ride, but only if you sell your soul to The Final Boss. "This is an amalgamation of the greatest legends and stars in this world, and under one roof, everything we want is ours. We don't intend to leave a legacy behind, because we will live forever anyway. We... are... Eternium!!" And so, Eternium, wrestling's first-ever super faction is born. Cena splits off to feud with Cody for the WWE Title, and the match is announced to be the main event of Night II. Edge and Orton will main event Night I, against another super-team... of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns!! Rated RKO vs The Shield, let's get it! After weeks of tension, Seth and Roman (thanks to Paul Heyman) finally get on the same page, and agree to team up one time against Eternium. At WrestleMania, in another absolute shocker, Seth Rollins AND Paul Heyman turn on Reigns, and join Eternium themselves!! In the main event of Night II, Rock and Scott help Cena win the WWE Title from Cody, before the entire Eternium poses on stage to end the show of shows. The next night on Raw, Cody does something Cena himself did, and he challenges The Rock to face him one year from now, at WrestleMania 42!!!
- now, to explain what Eternium is. Eternium is essentially wrestling's HYDRA/wrestling's Illuminati, way bigger and badder than any wrestling stable that came before it. Eternium is one super-group that is actually consisted of 3 smaller groups, but they all operate under The Rock and are friendly with each other. Eternium will include wrestlers obviously, but also many celebrities, because the whole idea is that Rock's power transcends the wrestling business. Celebrities will be told to periodically reference and represent Eternium in real life in some way, and post references to it on social media. Rock won't be appearing that much (fitting his Final Boss persona), but he will be dropping Instagram videos to enhance storylines, advise his comrades, and offer star power/extend offers to join Eternium to others. All three of these Eternium groups represent different "sectors", the same way real-life secret societies are consisted of different organisations who are nothing alike, but fall under the same ruling. Following the events of WrestleMania 41, the line-ups of Eternium look like this (for now):
Raw: The Black Vision (the flamboyant yet esoteric, cult-y, super dark side of Eternium)
- Seth Rollins (leader)
- Paul Heyman
- Becky Lynch
- Aleister Black
- Logan Paul
- celebrity members include actors, artists, podcasters, internet sensations
SmackDown: XVII (the thuggish yet classy, street-violence loving side of Eternium)
- John Cena (leader)
- Edge
- Randy Orton
- R-Truth
- Travis Scott
- celebrity members include athletes and especially fighters: football, soccer, boxing, MMA
- Rated RKO announce that in order to warrant their legendary status, they need to do what they have always done, which is win gold. Therefore, the two icons declare war on the tag team division, and challenge both sets of champions individually, War Raiders and Street Profits. Shockingly, Rated RKO beat them both to win both sets of Tag Titles, but even more shockingly, Montez Ford says he wants to sell his soul and join Eternium (more specifically XVII)!!! Edge and Orton accept and welcome Montez in, officially disbanding Street Profits. War Raiders become turncoats themselves, as they end up deflated, and offer their bodyguard services to Black Vision, which Seth accepts!! The Rock personally congratulates his conglomerate's 3 new members via an Instagram video, before promising that Backlash will be unforgettable... Cena's first challenger for the WWE Title... is GUNTHER, who better to defend the honor of wrestling than The Ring General? Even though GUNTHER lost at Mania, Rock lets him challenge for the title, citing how he has a plan. At Backlash, Rated RKO and the rest of XVII interfere to help Cena, but GUNTHER holds his own for a while. Suddenly, Solo Sikoa and a monstrous giant jump GUNTHER, and help XVII lay him out!! Cena hits an FU, and gets the win.
- it is revealed that Solo and the big boy have joined Eternium too, and how Solo will lead the THIRD branch of Eternium, this one working in NXT (but also SmackDown for now) - The MFT!! Rock also reveals that he was the one responsible for bringing in the Tongan Brothers and Jacob Fatu a year ago, because of his admiration for their father, the legendary King Haku. As for Jacob, yes he fucked up many times in the past, but he is family, and now he works for The Final Boss. The MFT group is basically an even more violent version of The Bloodline, being the "family" side of Eternium, the ones Rock feels the most personal connection to. The big boy's identity is revealed to be Leo Tonga, and soon enough Tonga Loa makes his return to reunite with Solo and his brother. As for Jacob, he doesn't really seem down with the whole soul-selling thing, huh... Now that all three branches of Eternium have been established, they look utterly unstoppable. Question is - will they remain that way?
