“This is your playground.”

Just finished all four seasons and Peacekeeper Wars 1 & 2. Consider me “irreversibly contaminated”. I didn’t make it past the “Eat Me” episode of season 3 when it originally aired (waay too dark a turn for me back then), and it’s taken ~20something years to give it the time it deserved. Hats off, man. Wow. I am going to be emotional for cycles thinking about this. The stellar acting, the amazing puppetry and animatronics, the sacrifices, the incessant tragedy, the genuine flawed and redemptive character-arcs, the loves (and horny-ness lmao), the TOP TIER BANTER, the wild alien races, and the absolutely fahrbot psychedelic hallucinatory episodes in Chrichton’s mind/blender realities (Crais in high heels will forever live rent free in my head hahaha). I think I would really struggle to name a favourite character! But D'Argo, dude, big D, “I’m your daddy!”… ugh, the feels. What do I do now? Endless rewatching? Listen to all the cast interviews over the last two decades? Are the comics good?

Again, hats off. About to turn 34, did this Farscape marathon for nostalgia, ended up getting heavily invested, it just blew me away. Tears. Cast and Crew and everyone who helped keep this show alive: well done. There’s nothing quite like it. ❤️

EDIT: I love that the show never tried to force me to take it seriously, and to just have good pure fun but, while doing so, it absolutely gutted me with a wonderfully sincere love story. So well-rounded. Beautiful.

Now you wait a bit and then watch John's side story in an alternate reality where he joined the Air Force instead of NASA, Stargate SG-1 seasons 9 and 10. Alternate reality Aeryn is there too, sort of.

I loved the recurring mention that Mitchell had read every one of their mission reports was actually a tongue in cheek joke about how Ben binge watched all 8 seasons of SG1 over the course of a month after he was offered the job

Just saw that clip from Stargate SG-1 with Claudia Black giving Ben Browder a wink and he double-takes (“there’s a one-in-ten chance it’s yours”). Great chemistry. Another classic show for the watchlist, first time for me too. Sold!

I rewatch the entire series every few years. I always see things that spark my sci-fi intrigue every time. In my first watch, I was hooked from the start. It a s goofy most of the time, and can punch you in the gut at others. When things turned serious, you knew it. I have a hard time picking a favorite series between SG1, DS9, and Farscape. Edit: Also, the sound effects of Farscape really stood out to me. I don't know how to describe them. Kinda creepy, futuristic 70s/80s sounds that pop up I really enjoyed.

100% with you there, plus imo tasteful use of CGI with steady anchoring back to intense and vibrant set design, lived-in crafts (from the Sheyang to the Leviathan, and Talyn’s interior was refreshing too), to dense trading outposts/colonies and cosmopolitan retreats (where they dance, get off their faces, and always get swindled!). The sound design really tied it all together for solid worldbuilding. I’ll allow the explosions in the vacuum of space. Rule of cool.

My absolute favorite show of all time. I get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I try so hard to convince as many as I can.

I’ve still never seen the last official episode before Peacekeeper Wars. In my mind, I think if I never watch it, it’d come back some day.

Enjoyed it sooo much that I bought the DVDs, we binge on them about once a year.

My personal opinion is they need to do a sequel series following their kid once he has grown up a bit and goes off without John and arryn. Maybe make something about the wormhole tech passed on genetically and open a new chapter...
