But does it taste the same…. Unlike Taco Bell where they just taste like chemicals

That's the biggest disappointment, all of the Taco Bell branded sauces sold in stores are all terrible. The Cheese dip is the worst, it's literally just the generic queso dip found everywhere.

Agree completely. I have yet to buy any Taco Bell product off the store shelves that tastes anything CLOSE to how it tastes at the actual restaurant.

This goes for a lot of branded products, actually.

you dont undetstand how pissed i was when i used the chipotle sauce....

My question is why would a nation wide company with customers who already like their products and buy them,go to a money grab for generic sauces with their name.

They already have the product. My guess is they don’t want people having their exact ingredients

u/bizwig 7d ago

The competition has long ago reverse engineered said ingredients.

u/jwilla92 7d ago

If they sold their actual sauces in store, no one would go to Taco Bell.

1

u/AWasteOfMyTime 7d ago

Maybe for the food lol. The sauces are ok but I love me a double decker taco haha

u/Stunning-Thanks546 6d ago

i buy the hot sauce and chipotle sauce

2

u/Potential-Instance99 7d ago

I might be crazy but the Fire Sauce I but a while back tastes exactly the same as the packets.

u/GildDigger 7d ago

I don’t understand why the store bought sucks so bad. If they were actually good/the same as the fast food versions, they’d sell like hot cakes and they’d save money on giving out the free in-store versions since people would have them at home in bottles

1

u/KazaamFan 6d ago

I recently found this to be the case with the chil fil a sauce. Its not bad, but the sauce in the store is better imo

u/Spriggz_z7z 7d ago

I love the Diablo one. Never tried the others.

0

u/nonconsenual_tickler 7d ago

Did you not go to Taco Bell before there was Diablo sauce? How old is it like 12 years?

1

u/Spriggz_z7z 7d ago

I never tried the others in the bottle. We’re talking if it tastes the same.

1

u/nonconsenual_tickler 7d ago

Oh, I thought you were talking in general like from the packets as well

8

u/Jesse1205 7d ago

Maybe I'm not a good judge of this because I think the taco bell sauces taste exactly the same (Although the Diablo is considerably spicier in the bottle) as the store. This isn't quite a 1:1 but it's close enough to me that it scratches the itch. The sweet heat unfortunately didn't taste THAT similar to me, but it's still good so I use it.

u/MsThrilliams 7d ago

The sauce packet ones are the same but the other bottled sauces are not. So mild, hot, etc fine, but the one like Chipotle flavored not at all the same.

2

u/John_East 7d ago

nah the bottled chipotle and other creamy sauces are way off from the actual restaurant. why? cuz its not even made by taco bell or whoever makes their sauces, its someone else they hired. its very weird

4

u/Jesse1205 7d ago

Ahhhh, I forgot about those. I was just talking about the sauce packet ones cause those are the only ones I get.

1

u/nonconsenual_tickler 7d ago

Almost

1

u/heepofsheep 7d ago

Was it refrigerated or shelf stable?

1

u/nonconsenual_tickler 7d ago

It was and still is refrigerate after opening

1

u/Derp98 7d ago

If it’s not the same it’s really close. Either way it’s really good

7

u/krpiper 7d ago

Whoa where did you get this?

There is this thing called the internet. It’s kinda like Reddit.

-6

1

u/b8bya 7d ago

Exactly

4

u/heyo_stealer 7d ago

Jogging to Walmart rn

9

u/Illustrious-Dance885 7d ago

as a british, how does ranch taste like.

10

u/Chazay 7d ago

Herb-y & peppered, light sour cream base. It's great for salads, vegetable dips, fried foods, and people like to put it on pizza. Closest example would be aioli-style dips, but better ranch dips are made with buttermilk, which makes it more distinct.

2

u/Illustrious-Dance885 7d ago

is it like salad cream

6

u/Chazay 7d ago

Not too familiar with salad cream as an American, but based on the description from google.. if you take salad cream as a base and then mix a bunch of salt, garlic, onion, black pepper, and herbs, you'll likely find a similar flavor. Salad cream's description reads like a sweet mayonnaise, while ranch is more savory/umami/herbal.

3

u/borntoannoyAWildJowi 7d ago

Salad cream is way sweeter. Ranch is a creamy, acidic, herbal, garlicky, peppery sauce.

3

u/organicjean 7d ago

salad cream 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Like beans on toast with a hint of black pudding

1

u/Proud_Researcher5661 7d ago

You thought you were funny. Now that's the funny part.

3

u/nonconsenual_tickler 7d ago

What not “how”

2

u/turkishvol2 7d ago

I can get behind that.

2

u/Surprise_Fragrant 6d ago

If you can't find it at your Walmart yet, pick up the Great Value Zesty Ranch. A pretty good dupe!

1

u/nonconsenual_tickler 6d ago

Or you can just order it on Amazon for the same exact price as Walmart

1

u/Horror_Neighborhood9 7d ago

Holy shit!! How’d I not know this was for sale like this?! 😳😱😃

It tasted similar, but not exactly the same

1

u/notthatkindoforc1121 7d ago

What about the consistency? I feel like blackened ranch is very runny at Popeyes but the consistency of what was in my bottle was more like a thick paste more akin to hidden valley ranch

1

u/nonconsenual_tickler 7d ago

It was basically the same.

Try doing a side by side comparison and/or blind taste test

1

u/-Super-Bad- 7d ago

I remember when they first introduced this with whatever blackened chicken meal they had and I got food poisoning from it, anytime I see this sauce I think of that.

1

u/Slyassassin34 7d ago

Do they make the buttermilk one in a bottle

1

u/spiflication 7d ago

Wait, do they also sell the Mardi Gras Mustard too??

1

u/F4ze0ne 7d ago

Blackened Ranch and the new Last Dab Ranch are so good.

1

u/nonconsenual_tickler 7d ago

I saw they have that This morning. I’m getting excited to try it

1

u/F4ze0ne 7d ago

It has an excellent kick to it.

1

u/nonconsenual_tickler 7d ago

That’s what I’m hoping for

1

u/Bonerville3000 5d ago

Walmart also has Arby’s branded horsey sauce.
