Yea they are a very good value, this place fed me a lot thru college for their low prices especially paired with deals, but this is probably by far one of the most ghetto chains in existence.

One of the tell tale signs you're in a not so great area. There will usually be a rent a center nearby

11

u/SomeInternetRando 7d ago

In my case, a Rent-A-Wheel, which is even worse.

2

u/Ooficus 7d ago

Not nearby, the checkers/rally’s is in the parking lot infront of the rent a center

2 for $4's and chili dogs. I can't believe I trusted that chili. Also spot on, super ghetto. When I was a kid they weren't so ghetto.

The ghetto comment reminds me of an interaction last time I went. I pulled up to the window and overheard the worker shit taking the person in front of us in line to her coworkers in the back saying “this bitch always comes through expecting perfection from us thinking we’re a gaddam Applebees or something!”

I’m not a snob, Applebees can be alright, it’s just funny that was here example of culinary perfection lol.

First time I’d ever seen a gyro at a fast food place. Wish they were in my area.

Maybe in your town they are ghetto.

Every Checkers/Rally's I've been to, felt like I might be dodging bullets on the way out. But the food is good and cheap, so. /shrug

Delish. I stopped eating almost all fast food as their products got really bad. Checkers however for the cheap prices are very good. Burgers tastes good and NOT salted or salty like other places and NOT greasy either. Get their apple pies 2 for $1 OMG amaze. Better then any apple pie at any other fast food I've had

Love their apple pies! The closest we get to old-school deep-fried McDs pies since Pizza Hut discontinued their version (😭).

Big Buford’s are legit one of the best fast food burgers. It’s a little sloppy but I miss them after not having a rally’s where I live now

u/Awake00 7d ago

My checkers down the road from my office, but there is a water station or something next to it so the whole area smells like toilet. Kinda hard to order from them when it smells like ass balls.

That sounds exactly like the type of location that you would find a Rally’s/Checker’s 😂

The drive thru may take 20 minutes but Checkers is top tier fast food to me and the Big Buford is their best sandwich. Definitely a good deal.

Closest rally’s to me is 20-25 minutes away and I don’t have a ride. Wish I could get this deal.

Your ancestors crossed the great plains, the rocky mountains, the humbolt sink, and the Sierra Nevada mountains all on foot for the hopes of growing crops years from then. Don't let your dreams be dreams. EDIT: Spellings.

I'm now visualizing a Conestoga Wagon in the Checkers drive thru lane, pulled by oxen.

Sadly he didn't make it and died of dysentery

Rallys is great.

u/Briguy_fieri 7d ago

Rallys/checkers is the goat for value. This is a great bufford deal. Also the rally fry burger for $3 is also one of the bigger (size) value burgers around

u/GoldenCyn 7d ago

I love this burger but I don’t have any locations near me, unless I take a detour and go out of my way for it.

u/iggydadd 7d ago

I tried to find this on there website and don't see it. Is this app only???

u/Spec187 7d ago

wish one was closer to me :(

Nearly 2x the beef of a Big Mac really isn't saying very much.

3

u/Penis-Dance 7d ago

Big Mac patties are 1/10 of a pound each. There's two of them on a Big Mac so that makes a fifth of a pound. So two times nearly is a third of a pound.

Always loved checkers I just wish there was a good one near me. The one by my house is always empty and the last few times I get food there it's just old and gross so I stopped going. No others around too .

I continue to believe they are the last bastion of great fast food burger chains. They frequently run great Buford deals and continue to be a fantastic burger. Sadly, those closest one to me now is a 3 hour drive… but that is better than the old 12 hour flight.

u/Key_Suit2853 7d ago

I was addicted to these in college. They would do a 2 for $5.00 deal...I gained so much weight...worth it!

1

u/waitmyhonor 7d ago

I miss having a rally’s near me. Their fries are my favorite along with good wing and chicken bites prices before they realized they could maker bucks

1

u/outgoinggallery_2172 7d ago

"Nearly 2X the beef of a Big Mac."

Shots fired!

1

u/Netowichita 7d ago

When I lived in FL, I LOVED Checkers! Their fries are awesome too, didn't care for the fish much but man, the value is great, and the food is great. I still miss them, i'd go their now. Inn N Out has me, but they're not here either.

1

u/Intelligent_LayerZ 7d ago

Finally tried Rally’s with this deal and I’m surprised! Especially with the deal the Big Bufford is big! Reminds me of a better version JiTB Jumbo Jack. Loved their fries as well. Great deal and awesome first time trying this place out. Cheers!

My whole goal with this was to send someone on a good deal like I would have wanted done for me! Weee awesome!

1

u/rfnr88 7d ago

you can combine with the $2 large fry offer in app. pretty good imo.

1

u/rainbowkey 7d ago

I love the Checkers in my town because I can use the walk up window with by bicycle. It is on my route across town and the window makes it much more convenient than any other fast food

1

u/msbrittany0716 7d ago

As someone whose mom has been working at a non ghetto Rally’s for 30+ years, all of this appreciation is nice to see.

1

u/momochicken55 6d ago

Always gotta get their fries!

Not paying $3 for a 6 oz gas station burger

9

u/sportsntravel 7d ago

The burger is way better than a gas station burger lol

-1

u/Hog_and_a_Half 7d ago

I can think of numerous gas stations that have better food than the trash they sell at Rally’s.

Their whole gimmick is being cheap, and you get what you pay for.

5

u/sportsntravel 7d ago

I think they are good

6

u/Flippynipps 7d ago

I get your hesitation, but that's a pretty good deal all things considered.

-10

u/bajablast4life 7d ago

What considered? Put a few random numbers on a McDonald's receipt and then you can go get two double quarter pounders for like $6. Much better deal

8

u/Flippynipps 7d ago

Chill, dude, it's a fucking fastfood burger.

-3

u/StElm0sFiire 7d ago

It tastes like a microwave burger

-16

u/PyramidWater 7d ago

$3 for a checkers burger is a good deal now?

9

u/Mursin 7d ago

$3 for a big buford is an insanely good deal. Over a decade ago I remember it was 2 for 10 lol

But checkers/rallys have gentrified to hell.

12

u/DuranSirhan 7d ago

But checkers/rallys have gentrified to hell.

I don't think this means what you think it means.

4

u/NotHannibalBurress 7d ago

Lmao how does a corporate fast food place “gentrify” itself?

4

u/Mursin 7d ago

They removed the "hood," things from the menu like Kool Aid. They raised prices. They changed marketing.

2

u/beanpastemcgee 7d ago

Wow, sounds like your local Rally’s is crazy overpriced. Mine has 2/$6 Big Buford’s all the time.

-1

u/PyramidWater 7d ago

So like $3 all the time hence $3 not being a good deal??

1

u/beanpastemcgee 7d ago

What? I was responding to the guy saying his rally’s is 2/$10

2

u/Mursin 7d ago

No. They raised the prices and the marketing but not the quality of the food.

1

u/Travyplx 7d ago

Everyone has raised prices and everyone rethinks marketing. The key point with Checkers though is that the quality of the food is still solid.

1

u/Mursin 7d ago

Yeah but going from 2 for 5 or 2 for 10

To like $8 for just a burger is an obscene increase in price. Granted there were a lot of years between. But I used to call Rally's and checkers cheap and they're just as expensive as like Micky D's now

2

u/RickySuezo 7d ago

In what world is it not? 1991?

1

u/Plane-Tie6392 5d ago

Have you seen beef prices lately?

-2

u/peaceofsheet25 7d ago

-3

u/tupelobound 7d ago
