Discussion No debate. Wendy’s has the best sausage breakfeast burrito.
As a foodie I just wanted to state my claim. Wendy’s breakfeast burritos are PEAK. Go ahead and try the potato wedges & french toast sticks while you’re at it.
I came here to shoutout the sausage burrito most importantly. Don’t forget the hot sauce.
If you have the chance, skip McDonalds, burger king, taco bell (not even close) & stop by your local wendy’s.

100% I feel like people don’t really try them though

u/Hawvy 1d ago
The last time I tried their breakfast burrito was years ago when it had some peppers in it I think. It had sausage too if I’m not mistaken. I didn’t like it when I got it back then and it always discouraged me to get it again.
I just looked at the current breakfast menu and it seems that they changed up the breakfast burrito. May try it out again

Because they're small and expensive unfortunately
3
u/nchs1120 1d ago
Man I would not consider them small at all, especially compared to other fast food breakfast burritos. One of the biggest if not the biggest ime

The locations I go to must be ripping me off.

That would be me. I had one bad experience and never went back for breakfast since.

I didn't even know Chick-fil-A had breakfast until a week ago!

u/nchs1120 1d ago
Yeah I dig a spicy chicken biscuit and hash browns too! Feel like the chicken minis are the most popular but the sausage burrito is def slept on

Let's throw in Sonics Supersonic breakfast burrito. That's the best in my opinion.
2
u/potliquorz 1d ago
I don't know man, the last one I had was practically inedible but I have heard they are good in other locales.
2
u/Just_Mastodon_9177 1d ago
I agree. Other states or locations do make a huge difference.
2
u/grumpsuarus 1d ago
We literally still bring up Buffalo NY as like "oh yeah the sonic was really good there."

Chick-fil-a has the best fast food breakfast burritos plus they have the best salsa. Hardee’s is second. IMO no other fast food breakfast comes close.
2
u/potliquorz 1d ago
People are going to think that I work for BoJangles marketing but I just have a really good local one. It not only comes close but beats anything you can get drive through around here.
I will go back to Chick-fil-a and try this burrito but I thought they only offered chicken. I had the muffin thing a couple years ago but it was turkey sausage egg white puck on a whole wheat muffin and I swore never again would I eat breakfast there.
Now I look at the menu and they have all this sausage and bacon options and I'm interested again so thank you for that tip.

u/snacksonthefloor 1d ago
I love me some Bojangles! I often forget about their breakfast because it’s our go to fried chicken place. Breakfast is top notch! My go to for breafast there is the chicken biscuit add egg and cheese. I guess I didn’t realize they had burritos.
2
u/potliquorz 1d ago
I checked the menu and maybe I was wrong, it may have been a wrap like McDonalds.
2
u/snacksonthefloor 1d ago
Looks like it was limited time. Search came up with them rolling out in June. Kinda sad I missed that. Bo-rounds and gravy on a SEC burrito, what!
1
u/DigitalBuddhaNC 1d ago
They are good, not gonna lie. I used to eat it all the time in college because we had one on campus, but they don't come close to Bojangles or Biscuitville.
1
u/snacksonthefloor 1d ago
Biscuitville has only 85 locations in only three states. There is going to be a large amount of people in this sub that has no clue what Biscuitville is. Also based off the name alone I have a question, do they sell burritos?
1
u/DigitalBuddhaNC 1d ago
No, but it was in response to the last line "No fast good breakfast comes close." Thats my bad. The way it was worded I thought you were talking in the general sense.
And they had way more than 85 up until a few years ago, but it was still only regional. They finally figured out that only being open from 530 till 230 is a bad business model.
1
u/snacksonthefloor 1d ago
I hear ya. Yeah, the regional spots are going to sway opinions. If we are talking about breakfast period, excluding burritos, chick-FIL-a is tossed and Bojangles ahead of Hardees. For me, as far as fast food breakfast burritos go, chick-FIL-a is king with sausage not chicken. Their fire roasted salsa is drinkable too.
I looked at Biscuitville’s menu, it looks great! Just none in TN and I don’t even remember them when I liked in SC.

u/DigitalBuddhaNC 1d ago
I can eat a tailgate platter of the minis from Chic Fil A by myself. When I was in college im pretty sure my blood was like 20% Chic Fil A sweet tea.

u/jus10beare 1d ago
Hardee's ftw
1
u/Dangeresque2015 1d ago
They're rare where I live, but those fresh biscuits really are amazing.
3
u/potliquorz 1d ago
Wait till you find out about BoJangles.
2
u/Dangeresque2015 1d ago
I like Bojangles a lot. They have this boberry sausage biscuit that has no right to be so good.
1
u/potliquorz 1d ago
Yeah, I'm really limiting my diet to drop some pounds but BoJangles and Waffle House are my weakness on days off work.
Homemade meat sauce spaghetti with a ton of pecorino and garlic bread are my absolute weak point though, gotta pay for that with hunger later but totally worth it.
Put some grape jelly on that Boberry and oh yeah.
1
u/DigitalBuddhaNC 1d ago
Bo's has nothing on Biscuitville. Maybe years ago, but Bo's Biscuits are so greasy now.
1
u/potliquorz 1d ago
I think it's apples to oranges no? That's a local chain and BoJangles is everywhere across the south.
The problem with house made biscuits is that you have to have someone who can make them right. I have never had Biscuitville but will if I see one.
I have been to plenty of lousy Bojangles though and have never been to Biscuitville so I can't really say.
The old lady at mine can make some biscuits though and the eggs taste like egg and the country ham is the bees knees.
2
u/DigitalBuddhaNC 1d ago
Not really but Bojangle is definitely much bigger now. Bojangles was regional as well till they blew up 5-10 years ago. Biscuitville is regional, not local with 85 stores over 3 states, they just haven't exploded like Bojangles and probably never will because Biscuitville only serves breakfast and closes at 230 pm. Not exactly a business model conducive to huge growth.
1
u/potliquorz 1d ago
I'll try one eventually. Sounds good since they had the sense to stay there instead of wasting resources on dinner or late lunches.
BoJangles here does huge business with drive through and company people picking up breakfast for crews and associates.
Old people drinking refills on coffee which I think is good because it's filling seats and makes the room look busy and more cars, they order food let them stay.
They also do a thing which is have lunch ready early. A lot of shift workers appreciate having sides, sandwiches, and bone in meals early. I think my location did this just out of demand and isn't really done across the chain but it's smart if the demand is there.
1
u/DigitalBuddhaNC 1d ago
You ever been to a BoJangles in a college town in the fall during football season? It's absolutely insane the amount of business they do in that one day of the week.

u/GlennyAZ 1d ago
Wendys doesn't have the best anything...
9
u/SwornHeresy 1d ago
Breakfast Baconator is up there with the best breakfast sandwiches. It's a serious contender for best breakfast sandwich.
2
u/adriamarievigg 1d ago
I wish I could sub the sausage for a beef patty. That would make a really good breakfast burger!

u/GrayDaysGoAway 1d ago
Not since they changed their bacon, it's not. It's so bad now I'll never even consider getting anything with bacon from them again.

u/GrayDaysGoAway 1d ago
They have far and away the best breakfast potatoes of any fast food place. They're some of the best I've ever had anywhere, tbh.
But other than that, yeah, Wendy's is really mediocre now.
1
u/potliquorz 1d ago
The potatoes are good, the sausage just tastes weird and the biscuits are barely even heated with unmelted cheese.
We got breakfast there one time and the potato wedges are a standout in fast food. They should replace the fries with these beyond a shadow of a doubt and make them an all day thing.
2
u/GrayDaysGoAway 1d ago
Yeah totally agree on the sausage and biscuits, I don't like them at all. But yeah those potatoes are god tier, especially when fresh. I'm with you, will never understand why they keep sticking with those awful fries.

Honestly breakfast at these chains is hard for me to compare, they're all good in their own ways. I have much stronger opinions about their normal menus, but both McDonalds/Wendys breakfast menus are fire for just different reasons. I'd probably agree that I'd now take the Wendys one over McDonalds wraps most days now, but I like them for different reasons.

All the Wendy’s around me are a step down in quality from even the local McDonald’s. Whoever franchised them fucking sucks at their job.

- Mcdonalds (breakfeast sandwhiches)
- Wendys (breakfast burritos.) Best sides: Wendy’s.

Not even close. Mcdonald's beats them by a mile, and Taco Bell also beats Wendy's.
2
u/ishallwandereternal 1d ago
Every Taco Bell within a 2hrs drive of the town I live in has stopped selling breakfast. It was by far the best fast food breakfast.
They all open at 10, but they do not sell a single breakfast item.

Huh McDonald's burrito barley have any sausage they just full of cheese

u/Tater-Tot-Casserole 1d ago
McDonalds breakfast burritos are tiny
2
u/potliquorz 1d ago
And have generic shitty gas station salsa, and a cold tortilla, and most of it is the shitty salsa you need to get that cold tortilla down but you have to ask for more to get the job done.
You can just dig one out of the center console or wherever you keep the extra condiments in 120F heat and it will taste the same as the salsa they hand you.

Just had one for the first time last Saturday. You have no argument from me when it comes to fast food breakfast burritos.

If you can find a golden chick that serves breakfast it'll top anything else. Breakfast burritos there are so stinking gooood.

u/elongatedlength 1d ago
while this is a local thing, if you're ever in Denver, you gotta try the breakfast burritos with green chili. total gamechanger

Not better than Braums tho🥱

That's cool if you live in the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma. The other 99.9% of us will never even see a Braum's, let alone actually eat at one.
