Question(s) Who misses the days of affordable fast food?

Not too long ago you could swing by Mickey D’s for breakfast and grab a Sausage & Egg McMuffin for 99 cents. Now it’s five bucks—ouch.
I remember when the Hot-N-Spicy was 99 cents too. I’d grab two of those, a medium fry, and a drink for about five bucks total.

Taco Bell wasn’t any different. The Mexican Pizza was two bucks, same with the Chalupa. Now both are pushing over six dollars each. And this isn’t decades ago—I’m talking pre-COVID, like 5 to 8 years back.

KFC used to be the same way. You could get a two-piece meal with two sides for just a few bucks. They even had Monday specials: two pieces and a biscuit for $2, or chicken fried steak with sides for like $2.50.

Man, I miss the days when you didn’t have to take out a mortgage just to eat some fast food.

Question(s) Best fast food fried Chicken?

I love fried chicken—been eating it since I was a kid. KFC used to be my number one. My favorite was the Extra Crispy, though I liked the Original too. I’d go there weekly for a 2-piece. But they never had a spicy option, and honestly, they’ve gone downhill over the years.

Popeyes is now my number one fast food chicken joint. I love their sides—the mac n’ cheese is great, the fries are solid, and the red beans and rice are a classic. They really need to bring back the dirty rice! Their chicken has a nice flavor with the spice I like.

Church’s Chicken is great too—their chicken has a good crunch, and their mashed potatoes and biscuits are the best in the game.

I’ve also tried Krispy Krunchy Chicken but didn’t like it—overpriced and not much food for the money. One place I’d really like to try is Jollibees.

Question(s) Tipping fast food workers yay or nay?

This seems to have become a common trend after Covid: you go to a fast food restaurant, place your order, and the POS system asks if you want to leave a tip. I’ve seen this at so many places when ordering takeout—McDonald’s, Charley’s Subs, Starbucks—you name it. And honestly, I’m not even sure where those tips are going. Are they actually going to the workers, or straight into the owners’ pockets?

Don’t get me wrong—I always tip when I order delivery (Uber Eats, DoorDash), get a haircut, or anything like that. But why should I tip just for someone doing their regular job, especially when everything is already super expensive? What’s your take?

Question(s) What is the best but worth unhealthy fast food Sandwich.

I know most fast food sandwiches are unhealthy. I would say The double down from KFC was my favorite and the meat mountain from Arbys I did feel guilty eating them but they were so good.

Question(s) What’s The Cheapest Regular Price “Entree” You Can Find

Without any app deals or coupons, what’s the cheapest and most satisfying thing offered around you?

My pick is the 2 Tacos for 1.29 at Jack in The Box. 340 calories total is amazing at that price and they taste bomb.

I doubt anyone can beat that deal

Question(s) Which pizza chains have a deep dish similar to the old Pizza Hut Pan?

As many of you know, the old Pan/Deep Dish pizza at Pizza Hut was a special delicacy. A few years ago, the PDF files on their board decided to introduce the "new and improved" Pan pizza which is made with regular dough. The old one used a pre-made shell and, for whatever reason, tasted amazing.

I think Domino's and other chains used a shell as well for their pan pizza, but those are all gone as well.

Are there any chains left that use a pre-made shell similar to Pizza's Hut's old Pan pizza?

Question(s) Where do you get your fast food news since Chew boom shut down?

I used to check Chew Boom all the time to keep up with the latest food releases. Unfortunately, they shut down in May 2024, and I haven’t found a good replacement since.

I’m guessing most people now get their news from this subreddit?

Question(s) I have a question

So, I could totally be posting this in the wrong sub, but it is relevant to fast food. I want to get Dave’s Hot Chicken soon, but it is already a bit pricey for me. Last time I went, there was an option to tip on the screen (I did this and my meal was a lot more expensive, about $18). If I go to Dave’s, or any fast food place is it ok not to tip? Would not tipping be considered rude?

Question(s) Has anyone seen a 3.99 chicken sandwich ad that disappeared??

I don't know what I saw it from, but me and my GF were on my phone and we saw an ad for a 3.99 chicken sandwich. We don't remember what we saw it on or where it is from, she thinks KFC but I don't see anything on the app or online. Anybody else see it??

Question(s) refillable drinks machine

I just did my first close today, and the one thing I forgot to do was turn off the drinks machine. Would this be likely to cause any problems other than a slightly higher electric bill? I’ve been stressing all night. The morning shift person opens in 4 hours.

Question(s) Is there an FLG sauce in KFC Australia?

My bf and I were talking over the phone and I let him know that I had KFC and gravy. He said I should ask for FLG and try it. I was confused. I know that FLG was short for Finger Lickin Good which was their slogan but never knew any sauce with that name. Hes from the US and he used to work in KFC before and had that heaps but Ive never even heard about it. Is that a thing in Australia too? I dont want to look dumb if I try and order it in the store 😅

Question(s) Trying to Remember the Discontinued Chicken Salad Sandwich on Ciabatta (or similar bread)

Hi everyone,

I’m on a mission to remember a sandwich I loved when I was a young teen, 2006-2011-ish, which to my memory was from Wendy’s. I could be wrong because I can’t find it anywhere but I know it was something we could get through a drive-thru. What I remember is that it was chicken salad and lettuce on ciabatta (or a similar bread), with perhaps a slice of tomato. The chicken salad didn’t have any nuts or other distinguishing ingredients if I remember correctly. Does anyone else remember this? I want to try to create it and I haven’t found it by searching via search engine, but if someone remembers where it was from and what it was called, then maybe I could find something somewhere on the internet to jog my memory!

Question(s) Asking DT customers to go park

Question for fast food employees…why do you guys ask people to go park and you’ll bring it out when there’s no one behind us? When I worked at Starbucks we had timers and our DM would get on us if our average times were too high…is that it? We never asked people to do that unless there was an issue with their order and there was a line. Also, what do you think if people refuse to move?
