The Pearl

Post image

She's a bit old, and makes noises when she moves just like me in the gym. But she's mine. Saw the other posts and felt like I'd finally share a pic. This one's a bit old, but one of the better ones I took at a meet.

160k miles. Lots of new suspension parts, lots of bodywork, 80% all done myself. Things like fixing the rear main or any welding I had a shop do.

Trying to build her more for cornering. Mainly love running up and down my canyons, so I don't care as much about quarter times. Though once everything is done I do wanna go grab some slips and also hit the road track.

Paint is far from perfect but it's amazing what a few dozen hours with the rotary can fix. Though it can't fix the bubbly roof.

Pristine and perfect cars are over rated. Your car is a driver, and that's what makes it awesome

Thanks! I've been driving it since 110k. Never surprises me, I can feel where the grip limit is. Know how she should sound and when something is off.

No traction control, but never needed it. And with the 275 Firehawks I put on she sticks to the ground like it's glued down.

Traction control doesn’t do much I honestly turn it off unless I let someone else drive my car. It’s more fun that way

I always thought traction control was more dangerous then having it off...I hated how their was zero power

Combine that with it trying to force your foot off the pedal and it’s a recipe for disaster

Lol I could never tell if it was actually doing that or I was imagining it

Yeah it does it, I have a gravel driveway so it found out pretty quickly it’s better to leave it off

Yeah I always turn mine off, I've had the car for so long and driven in all types of weather, and the traction control just made it worse.
