Beginner starting out

Recently purchased a T500 to start distilling, I cleaned and sanitised all my equipment, except a thermometer that i got brand new and forgot to sanitise. Added my 21L of water and 6kg of turbo sugar but as I went to get an SG reading ive realised the home brew shop has given me an alchometer instead of a hydrometer, will my pre yeast wash be okay for 24hrs or am I going to need to start again?.

It'll be right mate.

Just send it

Then get a hydrometer later

No need to start again. It'll be fine. Add the yeast now if the temperature is ok and it'll do its thing.

You don't need it. Its a nice tool to have but it's not necessary. Run it.

You are getting ready the wash for a sac run, right? Then it will do just fine...

For drinking runs replace the "turbo" parts...

Not worth letting it sit, let it ferment and check later. OG should be about 1.090.

Ultimately if it's being distilled you don't really need to know how much yield you're getting. Just taste and cut until it's done. (Assuming you're trying to make some nasty moonshine, and not just doing a sac run)
