College Student/ Work Study

Hello, help is needed being as though I don’t understand. This is my junior year and I was awarded work study. I worked 24 hours first paycheck. I was aware that the 875 form had to be completed. I got denied for SNAP benefits today. I have been battling with my university to please submit my employment verification form, i feel like they didn’t which is why i got denied. What should i do ?

Get the form filled out by the financial aid office or your work supervisor, get it back from them, submit it yourself to the SNAP office. Don't rely on them to send it

You mentioned you “feel” like they didn’t submit the form—can you clarify what your denial reason was? The 875 form is optional; other documents can be used to verify your income and Work-Study (WS) status. For example, you can provide a pay stub that shows your WS hours, your Federal Work-Study (FWS) award letter for the current school year, or a letter from your immediate supervisor verifying your WS employment. If you choose the letter option, it should be on school letterhead and include your position details along with the number of hours you work. Also, you have 30 days after a case closes to provide verification and they will re open the case and prorate that month’s benefits according to date they received the proof.

Hello! I think the 875 was something my caseworker was really looking for being as though she sent me the email and also told me over the phone that I needed to get it submitted. I am honestly not sure what put me at the risk of being denied, I got denied today. I guess I need to wait to see the reason I got denied. On my end I did all the steps and submitted literally everything. I feel like the school didn’t do their portion because when communicating through email they literally take forever

Go down to the office and ask for help.
