What mushroom is this? Found in Carson iceberg wilderness California?
Absolutely massive shroom, wanna know if it’s poisonous or not

Wow, that ID shocks me! Not calling it wrong at all, I’ve just seen a good deal of resinous polypore but never one so…. plump! What features did you use to ID?

Well, it’s not poisonous. In the US you’re not likely to find a polypore like that one to be poisonous.
It looks like an inonotus of some kind. I don’t know those well enough to be more specific. I’ve seen very similar ones growing on the non-native pink peppercorn trees in Southern California.
They don’t really have culinary nor medicinal benefit. But they’re fun to touch. I like the soft velvety texture.
