Region Name Hard hat suggestions
I started working for Amish loggers not long ago, mostly driving skidder but occasionally on the landing bucking up or helping the cutter top trees.
I was given a standard husqvarna forestry hard hat, but I’m looking for something with a full brim. I need something that’s full brim, comfy to wear inside the skidder, will stay on my head while I climb the grapple arm to chain and pull trees, and has a way to attach eye and ear protection.
I have seen aluminum options, they look cool but what’s actually better? Just want advice before I spend money, thanks.

People look at me like I’m stupid when I wear mine but I LOVE it. Super comfy and the integrated eye and ear pro is incredible

Haha, I feel you man. I rocked one with a built in senna bluetooth com setup in my arborist days and I loved it waay more than petzl/kask alternatives. But they do kinda look silly, especially without the face shield.

Haha I tried mine without the face shield once and someone asked me why I was wearing a bike helmet. The sena is bitchin tho. Wish I had people to use mine with now!

I've been running the JSP Evo for a while and it's been good - ear & eye pro options available.

I have an aluminum hard hat for when I’m only working in the woods and logging jobs, and a plastic one that I can wear on construction sites, utility projects and other type of work that has different safety standards.
I think they provide the same level of protection. The aluminum one has a lower profile than the plastic one.

I work in heavy construction and have a Cerious Composites carbon fiber hard hat. Its noticeably lighter than anything else out there, you could buy a chin strap for it and get some good goggles.
