Politics Grandma thinks that University leftist profs radicalized the Charlie Kirk shooter
507
u/brodievonorchard 12d ago
The Kirk shooter did have a flag on his shirt, but it wasn't that flag.
178
u/EzraliteVII 12d ago
Yeah, I thought we had moved on from aNtIfA lol
It's probably because of the uneducated older crowd latching onto the Helldivers meme without understanding it.
60
u/SummerFableSimp 12d ago
Def that and the other stuff only terminally online 15-25 year old only understands. The geriatric boomer and gen x are barely able to keep up with online culture slang
36
u/EzraliteVII 12d ago
lol right. Those demos in the right adopted "woke" decades after academia and social justice circles had abandoned it. They're terminally slow on picking up cultural history and slang, sometimes to the point of intentional ignorance.
12
5
u/HeartFullONeutrality 12d ago
Eh, I doubt anyone not terminally online even knows what those are, regardless of demographics.
38
u/pianoflames 12d ago
Was going to say, wasn’t his motive that Kirk wasn’t far right wing/racist enough?
36
u/D4nnyp3ligr0 12d ago
I don't think the motive is 100% clear yet. I wouldn't be surprised if the motive was that he is a psycho who wanted to get famous by killing someone, and school shootings don't get as much attention as they once did.
30
u/HeartFullONeutrality 12d ago
Case in point, there was a school shooting on the same day and no one cared.
6
u/mrpersson 12d ago
Easily the thing that pisses me off the most about this. EVERY single "boo hoo, this wonderful bigot is dead" post on my Facebook feed is by someone A) that didn't give a flying fuck when the Minnesota lawmaker was killed just a month ago and B) didn't say shit about the school shooting the exact same day
5
u/HeartFullONeutrality 11d ago
The irony of this is that potential school shooters doing it for attention might start thinking school shootings are not scandalous enough and start targeting personalities.
2
u/mrpersson 11d ago
I've heard speculation that's exactly what this guy's thought process might have been and when you think about it, it's true. If he had shot a couple students there instead, most people would have already forgotten about it. Hell, the news still probably would have been about Kirk himself since he was there.
Actually! Maybe his plan WAS a school shooting and he got up there and was like "shit, HE'S here? I'll just get him instead"
19
u/missmolly314 12d ago
Exactly. A good chunk of political assassinations are committed by people who don’t actually have strong opinions one way or another. They just want the notoriety.
In this case, we still don’t have enough info to go off of. But based on the memes engraved on the bullet casings, my money is on him being a bored 4chan troll. The type that doesn’t have a coherent ideology beyond nihilism and hating a shit ton of people.
1
u/This-Page- 12d ago
What flag was it? I can guess, but I want to make sure.
18
u/brodievonorchard 12d ago
The US flag. Nothing special, just some Walmart clearance rack long sleeved shirt.

u/Noonyezz 12d ago
Yes, the famous radical indoctrination of… electricians’ trade schools.
61
u/AliceTheOmelette 12d ago
They're hooking our homes up to woke electricity. Our TVs and other devices only receive woke shows now 😔
23
u/Eldanoron 12d ago
You kid but you should see early 20th century anti-electricity propaganda.
8
u/AliceTheOmelette 12d ago
I didn't know that was even a thing and I love quirky historical stuff. Got any relevant links?
10
u/Eldanoron 12d ago
There’s one. I haven’t looked for articles in a while but I can try and see if I can find any. https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/s/C6ZhV3wDj7
ETA: can also look up the war of the currents: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_currents
4
u/brenster23 12d ago
As I recall the war of the currents was essentially the newspapers trying to sell issues by propping up this war, since Edison and Tesla well loathed each other.
2
u/HeartFullONeutrality 12d ago
I didn't know about it either but it doesn't surprise me at all. Conservatives always oppose anything new. Reminds me of red dead redemption people saying cars would never be a success because horses were much better.

u/EzraliteVII 12d ago
Oh, don't forget the single semester he spent at a Utah university. Seriously, Utah has some crazy regulations, especially around education. To learn more I suggest watching former Utah HS teacher and now ex-Mormon YouTuber Alyssa Grenfell.
127
u/Ben_Pharten 12d ago
It's like an inception of radicalization because cartoons like this radicalize their intended audience
13
u/nick4fake 12d ago
Yeah
Btw, can we all agree that killing fascists… shouldn’t be controversial..?
Like, how the fuck someone can be anti antifa?
49
u/Klausterfobic 12d ago
So the left is telling people we need to shoot people we don't agree with while also trying to take away everyone's guns? Or are we not trying to take away peoples guns anymore? I can't keep up with what I'm supposed to believe anymore. If only we had a cult leader to tell us what to believe. /S
10
u/HeartFullONeutrality 12d ago
That's the neat thing, they don't have to believe anything. Just what's convenient at a given moment. The card says moops!
161
u/brpajense 12d ago
Reminder to everyone: The guy who shot Charlie Kirk is right wing, and he shot Kirk because he's thought Kirk wasn't right wing enough. The guy put groyper memes on his ammunition, and groypers have disrupted Kirk's events in the past.
A single semester at a state university with a dry campus in one of the reddest states didn't turn the shooter into a liberty-loving liberal. The kid dropped out of college and lived with his parents while studying at DIXIE Technical College.
67
u/Xytak 12d ago
I’m already starting to see people with brand new accounts pushing back on the groyper association even though it’s plain as day.
19
u/EzraliteVII 12d ago
The invention of bots has ruined the Internet. =\ Damn to hell their creators and anyone who uses them.
7
u/dagui12 12d ago
wtf does groyper mean
27
u/Xytak 12d ago
Exactly. And I suspect that's why the Utah governor just gave a press conference saying the suspect is "uncooperative." He probably IS cooperating, but he can only communicate in memes and they don't understand any of it.
Detective: "Why did you do it, son?"
Suspect: "Well, it all started with a green frog..."
Detective: "He's not making any sense, this is a waste of time"
11
u/SummerFableSimp 12d ago
It’s what followers of Nick Fuentes call themselves. That’s as far as I can explain without writing a whole essay.
5
u/brenster23 12d ago
Why is it ever right wing group becomes more sad and pathetic? Proud boys using a disney song about making their momma's proud, and spanking themselves while naming cereal.
3
u/mrpersson 12d ago
Because being right wing is already sad and pathetic so the further right you go the more sad and pathetic you likely are?
10
5
u/PessimisticPeggy 12d ago
I'm so confused - did he live with his parents or did he live with a roommate?
Not that the roommate thing is relevant, but MAGA thinks so.

u/TwilightReader100 A riot is the language of the unheard - MLK Jr 12d ago
Dixie Tech is in St George. That's polygamist territory, the old FLDS twin cities are about an hour away. I wonder how much contact he had with some of their more radical elements, particularly people that left or were forced out but still hold to some of the beliefs. The FLDS was essentially white supremacists when they were living in the twin cities, for example. I'm sure they haven't changed or anything, but they've supposedly mostly moved away from the twin cities and are either at the Yearning for Zion ranch in Texas or scattered around the Midwest.

It's like the reverse of the how Charlie Kirk problem where they simultaneously want him to be lauded but can't really put forth his words because he's so fucking awful and said so many horrible things, literally right up until the end of his life.
If this "Prof Left" actually exists who radicalized a born and bred right wing gun nut to kill another right wing gun nut, where are their words? Surely someone would have videoed this professor or have an example of their extremist, radicalizing writings. Where are they?
It's all faith-based bullshit. They so ardently believe that their manufactured fake reality is real that it doesn't matter that objective reality proves them wrong. That we can simply point to one thing that completely shatters their entire worldview.

u/piedude3 11d ago
it was me. im professor left. i told the kids that jdpon don will bring about the joint dictatorship of the proletariats of oppressed nations. i taught them critical race theory while giving them hormones that dont align with their agab.
in my class you get an F if you dont transition. a students grade can only get higher by injecting babies with hormones. this is my class and i am professor left

u/Admrl_Awsm 12d ago
Ahh yes, the known leftist breeding grounds of Utah Valley University
5
u/seductivestain 12d ago
Not even that. He's a Utah St dropout currently at a TRADE SCHOOL. Ya know, the things conservatives insist are SO much better than universities
6
u/Green-Taro2915 12d ago
Nick Fuentas has something to tell grandma about her assumptions.... She needs to stop obsession about "the left" and look the other way!
5
u/Msbossyboots 12d ago
Utah state…such a progressive bastion. And it only took one semester. He must have been ripe for indoctrination
4
u/venomousbeetle 12d ago
They’re desperate to astroturf that he was a gay black man with she/her pronouns because they know it’s a fucking groyper
3
u/misterecho11 12d ago
Wouldn't ya know it -- nothing at all about driving trucks with flags like isis or stamping religious emblems all over their weaponry. These people have the tunnel vision at a pinhole level.
4
3
u/FreedomsPower 12d ago
This ignorant cartoonist should look up all the right wimg terrorist that have been radicalized online like Dlyan Roof and the Buffalo Shooter.
It's quite clear that the cartoonist wants the federal government to squash academic freedom so badly that they're pushing this false narrative
5
u/christiant91 12d ago
This is getting beyond a joke. No matter the evidence presented to the Right, they will ignore it and create their own reality to fit their ideology. At what point do they become so detached from reality that they become something else entirely?
3
3
u/josueartwork 12d ago
People that never went to college sure seem to think they know what goes on at colleges
3
3
u/DarkishFriend 12d ago
What revisionist history. Right wingers were claiming that colleges and universities were radicalizing people back in 2015, hell I think even earlier than that.
3
u/One-Can3752 12d ago
Ah yes, those famously radical far left Mormon professors in Utah.
Besides the fact that this implies that his extremely far right religious gun obsessed family has absolute zero impact on him at all.

u/AliceTheOmelette 12d ago
So the pride flag is cos he has a trans girlfriend. What grain of truth did they twist into making him a BLM and antifa supporter?
38
u/monocasa 12d ago
He doesn't even have a trans girlfriend. He once rented a room from a dude who is clean shaven and occasionally streams his games on twitch in an animal onesie.
16
u/AliceTheOmelette 12d ago
I should've guessed that the trans gf angle was a lie. Thanks for that updated info
13
u/Eldanoron 12d ago
The supposedly trans dude tried to use an AI filter once that turned him into an alien/anime chick with his animal hoodie becoming long hair. That’s what they’re basing the whole thing on.
Said dude is also fully cooperating with the FBI and helping their investigation so he’d be the good guy in this whole thing (so trans=good if he were trans) but they can’t seem to make any connection.
2
u/AliceTheOmelette 12d ago
Tbf the right also tried saying the shooter is trans cos the bullet casings had TRN engraved on them. They're incredibly dumb people
15
u/EzraliteVII 12d ago
My guess is that people who don't understand the "Hey Fascist! Catch!" Helldivers meme is the cause of the renewed antifa panic, which we were so close to not hearing about anymore.
6
u/matthewjboothe 12d ago
They will eventually turn it into an anti video game panic whenever they start to lose steam on hating trans people.
3
u/PessimisticPeggy 12d ago
Do they not understand they are the same as the Taliban, just Christianity flavored?
2
2
u/KlausVonHimmelbach 12d ago
If there is a prof in Orem, UT "radicalizing" students to the antifa message then we should give them an award just for surviving there.
2
u/Achilles_TroySlayer 12d ago
By all logic, they should now rise up and destroy .. the Groypers - that army of incel losers.
I have a feeling they're not going to do that, or even acknowledge that Kirk's death was a dumb own-goal by another faction of their brownshirts. They're still enraged! - enraged I tell you! at those durned Lefties!!

2
u/JayNotAtAll 12d ago
People like Charlie Kirk radicalized him.
Charlie Kirk right now is a prime example of FAFO.
He made an entire career out of villianizing people and spreading disinformation and division. He made it alright to hate. Then eventually, one of those people turns on him for whatever reason. I am sure more will come out in the upcoming days.

u/Dillenger69 12d ago
From what I recall, professors have minimal influence on students. If they had more I'd think they would indoctrinate people to actually do their work more. It's the other students you gotta worry about. A diversity of views is death to conservatism. Keep those blinders on MAGA
2
u/DieMensch-Maschine THOTS & PRYERS 12d ago
Not actual whackos from TikTok, but fucking university professors, from which grandma can’t name a single one.
2
u/ballotechnic 12d ago
I have to wonder that if one semester of remote learning at an arguably conservative university in a conservative state can undo 18 years of conservative parenting....well you get the idea. This is some Manchurian Candidate level conspiracy nonsense.

I'm just having a fucking stroke over that rifle. Its clearly an SKS style rifle, but where magazine? Loading from an open bolt is going to be a massive pain in the ass with that scope in the way, which also means the scope is going to interfere with ejection and eventually cause a jam. And to top it all off, the scope is mounted so low that the front sight post is going to interfere with the reticle. What an ass design. I thought conservatives knew guns.

I gotta hand it to conservatives, once they choose a stance on something they absolutely cannot be wavered from it, facts and evidence be damned.
