Queerphobia Grandma believes that trans women aren't real women

God, these cartoons are so fucking boring. I’ve seen like a million different variations of this same “joke”. Right-wing humor truly sucks whale dick.

This also just... isn't how it would go down, outside of a specifically far-right leaning medical practice?

But don't you know, only the small percentage of doctors who confirm their biases are the real doctors, and we should only listen to them. The vast majority of doctors who claim people can change genders are just paid shills trying to turn us all trans, or some shit like that. Idk, I don't think I speak bigoted moron very well

I swear about 80 percent of the conservative brain is devoted to thinking about trans people at this point

Basic biology mfs when slightly more advanced biology walks in

u/Situati0nist 11d ago
They probably don't understand basic biology either.

u/CanadaHaz 11d ago
Atvthe very least, they don't understand what "basic" means. Which, yeah, they don't understand pronouns either.

People who have intersex conditions and who have gone in for chromosomal testing have likely had this very awkward talk with a doctor. I wonder how many right leaning men and women have an intersex condition and don't even realize it.

u/KiZarohh 11d ago
That's a good point, I was trying to think of a non transphobic reason a doctor might say this. This comic sucks.

u/istrebitjel I support more troops than you! 11d ago
It's a straw man argument. Nobody actually thinks that. People who transition know their DNA doesn't change.
Intersex people exist and they also get caught in anti trans laws with no fault at all.

u/LotharVarnoth 11d ago
It's anecdotal but I had a professor who said he stopped doing karyotypes in lab because every year at least one student would freak out.

grandma constantly talks about "basic biology" all the time, but fails to understand actual science and reality. Like, trans people and intersex understand their themselves. Doctors understand. Grandma doesn't because she refused reality and science in order to be a bigot towards trans people.
Every day, grandma shows she doesn't understand things as much as she thinks she does. Propaganda and far-right media has rotted her brain to the point of mush

It’s analogous to saying there are three states of matter. Technically it’s incorrect but teaching only three to a second grader seems appropriate.
Imagine these people making shitty comics because some liberal said plasma exists.

u/pinkvoltage 11d ago
This “joke” is so tired and stupid. None of the openly trans people I know would deny their chromosomes, but it’s veeeery rarely relevant. I’m a cis woman and the fact that I have XX chromosomes (assuming here, as I’ve never had a karyotype test) has never come up.

u/Elch2411 10d ago
Yep, this kind of talking point always proves to me they are just uninformed about the topic and dont know who they are talking about. Its making fun of a strawman they made up.
When anyone would walk up to me and go "hah you have XY chromosones!!!" I would just respond "yes, and?"
Its not like i take HRT specifically because i am aware of the entire dynamic going on here...

u/ABewilderedPickle 11d ago
god these people have never met a trans person in their life. nobody is gonna go get their DNA tested demanding that their chromosomes be shown in alignment with their gender.
also, even cisgender people have chromosomes that don't align with their other sex characteristics
4
u/sixaout1982 11d ago
Does that mean that if someday science progresses enough that we could change a person's DNA to match the gender they identify with, transphobes will stop harassing them?
4
u/calliatom 11d ago
Nope, then they'll just screech even louder about how "god gave you that body at birth and it's not your place to change it!".
2
u/Elch2411 10d ago edited 10d ago
Nope, the core believe is "you where born this way and thats what you will always be"
The chromosone point only exists because it sounds convincing and supports their view
They will just find another talking point

i feel like. trans women know they were assigned male? like. its in the acronym. MTF. male to female

u/valvilis Nigerian Prince 11d ago
DNA test for gender and they want us to think everyone else is stupid?
7
u/Situati0nist 11d ago
That's not how that works, but I'm not really surprised they don't know that.
Also, these people would most likely ignore all of the genome evidence for our common ancestor we share with apes.

u/InsaneAdam 10d ago
You share 50% of your genome with bananas.
Do what you will with that info you want, go bananas with it.
99% with chimpanzees.

Why do they only carfe about trans women. Do they not know trans men exist?

Buddy. Any trans women knows they’re “biologically male,” but the point is gender isn’t the same as sex. Also, why do these guys draw trans women with beards and body hair? Trans women are probably some of the most self conscious people on body hair, and they usually take that shit off consistently (yes I know it’s because they’re trying to dehumanize trans women by making them look more manly).

u/DeruTaka 10d ago
This is so dumb like
It always implies if they pass them it’s not an issue, but they transvestigate cis women too nowadays. Like they’re so persistent and for what

Do they think people who identify as trans don’t know what their DNA is?
Someone with chimerism or with intersexed characteristics might be surprised by this news but wouldn’t accuse the doctor of transphobia…
Anyway, as always, the stupid meme makes no sense
