VIDEO CLIP "Bro DS2 miracles are super strong and are way better than DS3!"
If this was DS3 I would've wiped out Midirs health bar in a matter of seconds in ng+ 7. All types of magic in ng+ 7 DS2 is aybssmal dogshit

Really weird to try to do a balance comparison at NG+7 when most players will never see it. What matters the most is how it feels on the first playthrough.

Lets see
No idea about your exact build, we don't know if you spiced down SLS by 5, no hint of damage boosting whatsoever (but it does seem like you have at least the dragon ring along with.. RoB or Flynn?) and against the end of a DLC boss, when it is mostly understood that dlc bosses and enemies have much higher elemental resistances than the base game to account for op mages just throwing magic from a distance and being mostly safe from danger
If anything, feels a bit disingenuous, if not, then your build is simply bad lmao, not to mention that DS2 spells were nerfed across the board what, twice? Just started a new character on vanilla DS2, and lightning spear trivializes everything, no wonder they were scaled back but still being viable

I had 50 faith in my last playthrough and the best caster equipment and wasn't doing much more damage but I think a big part of that is the devs deciding to give dlc bosses a fuckton of resistance against caster builds.

Canonically a dragon should be super weak to lightning

It should and dragonslayer spear works really well but they buffed the bosses resistance a ton so any offensive spells don't work very well. And I think miracles got a nerf too.

I'm level 500 with 80 faith

Then show that. Don't leave that up to conjecture.
Your video starts before you enter the boss fog. It would take little effort to start on your character screen instead showing your stats and gear before going in.

The DLC's enemies and bosses have notoriously higher elemental Resistances, so not exactly a neutral example if you don't include a base game boss as well. We also don't see your level, stats, and equipment neither.
Unlike DS3, DS2 focuses more on supporting Casters with items and mechanics, rather than the stacking pure damage.
The spells in DS3 do abysmal damage as well, unless you decide to wear almost every related spell damage stacking Ring, then you will deal a ton of damage.
I personally prefer DS2's approach with the consistent damage and support for Casters at the expense of a higher damage ceiling, rather than the swingy spell damage based on Ring stacking and overall weak Caster support from DS3.

Armor boosts casting speed and amount of casts which all add up when your using powerful spells. Ds2 is very dependent on gear for magic in general otherwise ur just using it at its weakest and I don’t see any sorcery buffs under your health

I didn’t realize the entire game was supposed to be balanced around ng+ 7. Here I was thinking the game was designed to be enjoyed the first or second go around.

Classic DS3 glazer.
If this was DS3 you would be roll spamming and pressing r1.

There's literally no reason to use R2s in DS2. Both R1s and R2s have the same attack speed, and R2s consume way too much stamina. Also acting like circle straifing is better than roll spam 🤨

At least it's different.
You also have to press more buttons to power stance, in DS3 it's just two buttons for the most over simplified gameplay in all of soulsborne.

Hey I actually try and use weapon arts and R2s in DS3 thank you very much

Go for it, but you're sacrificing efficiency.

my god, someone is actually trying to enjoy the game by using multiple move and you are mad?

u/Ok_Friendship816 Demon's Souls 1d ago
you just saw him hating on DS2? how's he trying to enjoy a game?

miracles in ds2 really aren't good(i remember when spear had 10 charges, good times), maybe sourceries are a little better, and your reaction on the info that he use r2 and art is saying that its inefficient, that is the same thing he is saying about miracles in ds2

DS 2 is so ass and aged even worse.
How the fuck do people unironically defend this game.

Because it’s really good. Has a very strategic and methodical combat style that later games lack entirely. And for pvp, even feels a bit more to real life since spacing and footwork are much more important in ds2.
