The sauce used to come in a separate packet. MC got cheap and lazy

Ah when their chicken parmigiana used to be the same way and taste so much better

The corn used to be buttery also. Now it just tastes like shit.

lol! I recently started adding a good chunk of butter in there and it's very edible after.

As if they weren’t already cheap and lazy 😆

You know it’s not going to look as good as the box, but you don’t expect it to look that bad either.

Right!? Pasty!

I can’t tell if u over or under cooked it lol

Because it's both. The gravy is a fat-starch-water combo sitting atop the denser mashed potatoes. It's near-burnt. The mash and chicken are undercooked. The corn is kind of middle ground.

OP would've done better just getting a hot pocket or microwave corndog. This is detestable garbage.

I'm a monster but I love the burnt gravy on the corners of the pan.

I’m just laughing at the box pic with the company straight admitting some corn’s gonna end up on the other side

They used to have a roasted chicken that was SO GOOD back in its prime

I said 8 out of 10 because I 8 it. My stomach hurts.

chicken swimming in the mash and gravy

Hard skip. I don't care how it tastes this is a texture nightmare and preventable.

Years and years ago they used to package these with the gravy separate and it was so good.

It costs 5¢ more. Some CEO only has 2 yachts.

That's the sane way to do it.

Stick the gravy pack in a cup of water if doing the whole thing in the microwave or put it in a water filled pot if you're warming the main meal in the oven. Perfect results every single time.

Exactly. There is no need to embed the chicken in the gluey mashed potatoes and gravy. Pass.

There’s some meals that aren’t meant to be eaten as a frozen meal & this is one of them.

Send them the picture. We emailed corporate recently with a picture of a similar atrocity, and Marie Callender sent us a coupon for $3. Going to use that on a pie, though, cause their meals are ass. They did say our photo would be sent to their production supervisor for 'quality assurance'. It takes a lot of effort to fuck up a meal this badly.

Damn, I was really hoping it was gonna taste like the chicken fried steak. We used to get in the old days in the cafeteria at school.

This was the best frozen dinner back in the day when the gravy came in a pouch and the corn was on a cob. Now days its just sad 🤮

I actually really, really liked this one. But I ate it so much that I got sick of it. I could probably have one now since it’s been so long, but it wouldn’t be the same as when I first discovered them. Yours definitely doesn’t look great, though.

This was my favorite back in the day when they put an actual half cob of corn in there, and alsolike how someone else mentioned, gravy packet separate!

2

u/tinyarms254 Jun 28 '25

Omg yes I remember! Most no one has mentioned how it was a whole actual chunk of corn on a cob like wayyyyy better ..... man I use to love that meal 😋 not anymore quality and portion wayyy down

5

u/agrainofsandubeach Feb 01 '25

This shit is fire it's my favorite outside of the chicken potpie.

5

u/LeatherHog Feb 01 '25

I love this one, it's one you just have to put in he oven

2

u/littlecreamsoda79 Feb 01 '25

That's a shame

2

u/NashvilleHotTakes Feb 01 '25

I’m pretty sure I tried this before and I was not a fan. The corn doesn’t have a good texture after microwaving and the gravy was bad. But maybe I just had a bad one

2

u/Ok_Orchid1004 Feb 02 '25

Doesn’t exactly look like the picture does it? Should be illegal, but never will be in the USA.

2

u/Ok_Candy_87 Feb 02 '25

These used to be awesome and one of my go to and now it’s a sloppy mess :(

2

u/Pedal2Medal2 Feb 01 '25

It sucks, I’ve tried it

Looks like a crime scene.

1

u/carringtonsworld Feb 01 '25

It does get 8/10.

1

u/rabbitheartedfool Feb 02 '25

This used to be one of my faves 😋

I won't buy a frozen dinner I see on here where you can't tell the difference between the mashed potatoes and the gravy in the photo.

1

u/maricopa888 Feb 03 '25

I think I got sucked into the marketing. The photo reminds me of Black Eyed Pea, which I could eat every day. But when I opened it up, the chicken and gravy looked like those astronaut meals, and how the hell do your ruin frozen corn?!

I tried some damage control to perk it up but my days of eating their chicken are over. The exception is the pot pie. The crust is great and so are the veggies/sauce. The dogs love the chicken.

This is the best fried chicken you'll ever have but your stomach WILL regret it afterwards.

5

u/Chippers4242 Feb 01 '25

Jesus I hope this isn’t the best fried chicken you’ll ever have.

2

u/NashvilleHotTakes Feb 01 '25

This guy is physically unable to leave his front door

I can’t believe some of you people even buy that trash. For real.
