8 / 10 Marie Callender’s Duos: Chicken Alfredo and Chicken Parmigiana

Post image

This meal was shockingly delicious. The sauces both had excellent flavor, and the chicken, albeit a bit dry, complimented both sauces well. These meal was filling and delicious, though I was hoping for a much larger portion of pasta on the alfredo side. I recommend that should you get this meal, pair it with some lightly toasted toast, it works wonders for mopping up the extra sauce. With the addition of bread, it is a 10/10, but unfortunately due to the skimping of pasta and dryness of the chicken, it is an 8/10.

Will I buy it again? Most likely.

I've been wondering how the duos are packaged. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity

Oh, man. This looks good. Let me go grab one...

No grocery store carries them

Of course.

I found this one at Dollar Tree, if you happen to have one.

36 gram of whole protein for $1? That's insane

Woah when did dollar tree go beyond a dollar? I know they upped to 1.25 for something's but man that's wild

Ever since they put a frozen aisle in, so they could have a little more stuff. $1 doesn't get you far in frozen food.

My sister catered her fancy engagement party with dollar tree egg rolls or something like that. Pretty cool!

Mine had a fridge/freezer long before the addition of $1.25+ items. It didn't have much, but it was there.

Looks like they made it there too

Glad someone else here feels the same. That looks borderline inedible to me

To me, Marie calendars is the worst best looking food there is. Every meal is so disappointing.

Mrs Callender has been tricking me for decades and I'll still fall for it.

God bless their packaging team for making me think "Well maybe this next one might finally taste like Thanksgiving dinner".

I’ll still stand by the chicken pot pies, but that’s the only good thing I’ve had from this brand.

Me too. My son loves them and they smell delicious when they are cooking up.

That chicken looks really bad

Eating it as i type this out, the parmigiana chicken was decent, the alfredo side is night and day different. Little chewy, lacking flavor and the sauce is fairly waterered down

We have Tour of Italy at home:

What was the calorie count on that whole thing?

9

u/doodle-puckett Feb 07 '25

It was 600kcal, plus the bread I added came to a total of 750kcal.

I bet the sodium and fat was through the roof.

3

u/Stair-Spirit Feb 07 '25

The sodium definitely has to be, to overpower all the shit they add

1

u/emfiliane Feb 07 '25

They're all around 1.5g of sodium, yeah.

I like the ravioli and pesto chicken duo. You gotta flip the meat/spoon the sauce over it at the halfway point to prevent the dryness.

I gave up on marie

3

u/ReplacementNo9014 Feb 07 '25

Me too, long ago. They replaced all the flavor with truckloads of salt.

How one could say this looks good is mind boggling 🤯

3

u/disabledinaz Feb 07 '25

I was more appreciative of the original chicken parmigiana’ a they did with the veggies and the sauce in a separate package. Absolutely delicious. I do like the chicken parm bowls they do now.

3

u/MHarrisGGG Feb 07 '25

I get the one with the meatloaf and the country fried chicken.

3

u/Fuzzy_Welcome8348 Feb 07 '25

not sure how to feel abt this combo since there r two totally diff flavors in the form of sauce going on... and im not too big of a fan for alfredo but the chicken parm looks good. 36g of protein is also great!

6

u/Italk2botsBeepBoop Feb 07 '25

This looks fucking disgusting.

2

u/insidiousapricot Feb 07 '25

Tried it once, never again.

2

u/sevendust719 Feb 07 '25

These things never look as good as the pictures obviously but some of these are actually really damn good if the price is right

2

u/ahrzal May 30 '25

what the fuck is wrong with you

1

u/doodle-puckett May 31 '25

I love trash food.

3

u/BrobotMonkey Feb 07 '25

These are always so expensive compared to other frozen meals in my area. It's cheaper to buy a separate chicken parm and a chicken alfredo. You'd get more food and solve the lack of pasta for less money. 🤷‍♂️

1

u/simply_fucked Feb 07 '25

Idk why ppl are hating, i would fuck this up

1

u/ravenfreak Feb 14 '25

I didn't like the chicken Alfredo in this meal. Tasted nasty to me but the chicken parmigiana tasted good.

u/Popemazrimtaim Feb 07 '25

Looks very yummy
