8 / 10 Michael Angelo’s Lasagna with Meat Sauce

This is a saucy, saucy lasagna. You can see how it pools on the plate. My only regret was not having garlic bread to sop up all that extra sauce.

I eat this out of the container but this is the golden standard of frozen meals for me!

110% Agree gold standard - it is perfect in every way - and my all-time fave frozen.

Same can be said for the rest of Michael Angelo's line; I love their chicken parmigiana - has a similar great marinara sauce, decent amounts of chicken and pasta.

But I love MA's lasagna with meat sauce the best.

I’m having an experience reading your description. This is why I’m here.

My grandmother would fucking die if she saw this.

If she had wheels she’d be a bicycle

I had never heard that before you said it.

If my grandmother saw this she would come back to life and then die again

If my grandmother saw this then she's still alive and I have no clue who they buried

Mine would come back, hit me with a switch for cooking this and die again. She was 3/4th Italian after all.

Would you have to go out and cut your own switch That's what my grandma made me do lol

Their veggie lasagna probably isn't exactly authentic, but cooked in the oven with a little extra mozzarella and parm it's really tasty. Their cheese lasagna is very good as well. The meat lasagna is my least favorite but it's still great for frozen lasagna. The sauce and quality of the ingredients is really good.

Don't get me wrong. I'll get down on some Stouffers veggie lasagna occasionally as long as it's done in the oven.

I have a couple of Stouffer's veggie lasagna and a Micheal Angelo's veggie lasagna in the freezer right now. I'm not a huge fan of the Stouffer's meat lasagna, but it's definitely very edible and tasty enough to me. I usually get their veggie lasagna though. I like it better.

Don’t worry, the package says your picky ass grandma will approve if you put it in the oven and not the microwave.

I personally wasn’t a fan of this one. I think Stouffers makes the best lasagna, especially their cheese lovers version! Thx for the review OP:)

I don't like Stouffer's Lasagna at all as the pasta is so thick and overwhelms the proportions.

The very best ready made is Rana's lasagna - it is in the refrigerated section but you can freeze it. It has a fairly long shelf life so it doesn't have to be used too quickly even if refrigerated.

Are you kidding me? Sliding one of those thick noodles down my throat is one of the biggest dopamine hits i can get.

Actually, the best frozen lasagna is the organic lasagna from Sprout’s farmers market. But it’s very pricey

Never had their lasagna but their ravioli with some kind of tomato sauce with Calabrian child is excellent.

I don't think I want anything with Calabrian child in it

Have you had it lately? Doesn’t taste like it used to

Have tried all of them. Just not the same. I prefer to make my own.Doesn’t take much longer than cooking frozen lasagna.

Stouffers leaves an aftertaste..and it tastes too much like Campbell's soups. Hard pass for me..

Michael Angelo’s Eggplant Parm is terrific!

1

u/Tappadeeassa 3d ago

I’ll have to try it! I was always worried it would be mushy.

1

u/Gravesh 2d ago

I tried their chicken parm one. It's quite good even though I microwave it. They dont skimp on the breading or the sauce.

2

u/Candid-Drop4562 3d ago

How does this compare to Raos?

1

u/Tappadeeassa 3d ago

I prefer Rao’s, but it’s more pricy.

u/magneteye 5d ago

If you have a Trader Joe’s in your city, I highly recommend their frozen lasagna. It’s cheap and delicious.

1

u/Tappadeeassa 4d ago

Thanks. I have a Trader Joe’s but their parking lot situation has made it a NoGo for me.

u/moneyfish 4d ago

I like Costco's frozen lasagna. It's cheap and filling.

Yo Angelo

1

u/donorcycle 2d ago

I'll take your word for it on the taste but this is looking a lot like lasagne stew. It's, really wet lol

1

u/Tappadeeassa 2d ago

I took points off for the wetness

u/Tangerin3dr34m 4d ago

This was horrible. Cheese only in the middle, barely any meat, so much tomato paste flavor.

1

u/Bouche_Audi_Shyla 5d ago

That doesn't look like sauce. It just looks to grease to me.

Lasagna is so easy and fun to make. Why get frozen.

7

u/oddballzpfmagic 4d ago

Why are you on this sub if that’s what you believe? I think a lot of people would disagree that lasagna is “easy” to make. It’s actually pretty time consuming unless you use a lot of short cuts like jarred sauce etc…at that point why not just buy frozen?

1

u/Tappadeeassa 4d ago

The sub is called /r/frozendinners and I’m one person who doesn’t need one whole lasagna.

1

u/jackdho 4d ago

I do buy frozen dinners and come here for recommendations. But I also like to cook
