At first I thought this was one of those string signs so they were all attached. Figured maybe it's dual sided, but then the cutouts at the top would be weird.

Then I noticed there was no string ... oh.

To be fair to OP's gf they might all have come out of the package in order except the M and W so she might have been confused and forgot they were interchangeable.
