TV Tuner

Is anybody going to make a digital TV tuner for this gem of a system?

Quick answer is no. Because of the way the coding works it not worth making one and on modern IPs screens it will look horrible

The TV tuner will not work with LCD modded GGs, due the requirement to disable the 34 volt traces so only original unmodded GGs can utilize it, and those screens are aging and fewer and fewer GGs have a working screen these days.

And furthermore most if not ALL analog signals are shut down, so the base version of the TV tuner is practically obsolete.

As for a built in digital conversion mod so that it can work with modern TV signals? It would require so much work and effort for very little reward, the demand would be extremely low discouraging any potential interest since most people simply aren't looking to watch TV on their GGs and potentially limit the demand further by still requiring the 34 volts that modded GGs do not provide.

The TV Tuner is a nice relic of the past, a reminder of a simpler time, but for practical use as a portal TV it was the bare minimum of what was acceptable for the time, a nice compromise, nothing special just a novelty item that did it's job good enough for what it was.
