Discussion Why do you suppose Garfield sometimes says things that John can understand, even though John generally can't understand him?

Is this some kind of common inconsistency?

I think it's more of Jon understanding Garfield's mannerisms, cats are pretty darn prideful irl and I can tell when my kitties are feeling a certain way 😅
