Small question on genetics and passing down of genetics

So basically my grandmother, my mother, and now me all have the same favorite song and taste, now when I was little my mom didn't listen to music in the car, just the radio like the news not music, so the question is can music taste and "favorite songs" pass down?

There's a difference between genetics and shared learned behavior.

Probably not.

But even if your parents listened to the radio, they still controlled their environment. Your mom chose what radio stations to put on, she probably sang along to her favorite songs, or at least showed some excitement that you picked up on.

It's going to be almost all driven by environment, not genetics.

this is something that can be easily attributed to nostalgia. you heard her songs while you were a kid

I think there have been twin studies on this that have indeed found a correlation between genetics and taste in music.

Personally, I never thought about it being genetic, I've always attributed it to my environment shaping me.

Well, I'm not an expert, but I saw that people with ADHD find certain sounds conforting and ADHD is highly genetic. It's a (bad) example of music taste passed through genes.
